View Full Version : Locking and Encryption

I'm looking for a device locking and pdb encryption program for the TH55.

Previously, I was a happy user of PDA Defense but it doesn't support MemorySticks and it's been bought by JP Mobile who don't seem to have done anything yet.

TealPoint's TealLock is ok. It hasn't been updated since February (which isn't a bad thing in itself) but the program just seemed bit clunky - needs polish. It does support encryption of the MemoryStick.

Another one I've come across are ProLock (out of date and some dodgey reviews).

To summarise, what I'm looking for is a program that will lock the TH55 after a set period of time, trash the data if the password is put in wrong X times and encrypt selected files on the MemoryStick so that even if it's removed, the data can't be read.

Any suggestions?

Andrew

Take your pick....

i) Because the MemoryStick is unencrypted and as I do a backup from the main memory to the MS, anyone could just pop the card out and read the whole of my life.

ii) Because I'm paranoid.

PDAman,

In the thread here
http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63466&page=1&pp=15&highlight=security+softwares
back in March, you said,

"So now i use pdasecure (128bit) and pdabomb and usual palm security (64bit) and zlauncher category security !"

Do you also have Pocket Tunes installed? I find that if I have PDAsecure installed, I get a fatal exception when pressing the pause button in Pocket Tunes (play any track, then press the pause button).

Bit of a pain, as I was going to standardise on PDAsecure (for the PDA) and mEncryptor (for the MemoryStick). Other than this problem PDAsecure seems to have the smallest effect on the system in terms of performance.

Yes, i have pocket tunes deluxe in ram, but i don't find any fatal exception from it, or any perform lost from my Sony Clie...

So now my security settings :
-clie usual security (64bit/128bit)
-pdasecure (440bit)
-wlan security (128bit)
-zlauncher category security

I'm planning to get :
-teallock and some ms security software
