I already have a sony Music Clip MC-P10 that i have been using for MP3's. But now that I have my clie im using it for everything. I just dragged and droped some mp3's from my computer to my clie to listen to. They play fine on my computer and when i burned them to a cd, but when i play them on the clie i get some chirps and blips on every track that are really annoying. I have "Enable operation beep" turned off. The MP3's are 192Kbps stereo 44.1Khz. Its done it with other mp3's before too. Any reason why its doing that? Thanks

Question, do you have any other issues with your NR reading your memory stick?

I was thinking more down the lines of MS slot losing contact with the the MS. Couldn't hurt to either a) try a different MS or b) press hard on the "C" of "Clie" on the back of the unit while your playing an mp3 that is hiccuping. If it continues, we know it doesn't have to do with the the MS or the MS slot.

sounds like a MS problem. You have 2 options pretty much, the first is to send it to Sony, they will fix it by installing a whole new MS slot sleeve but you will be without for up to a couple of weeks. Your second alternative is to disassemble your Clie and wedge a piece of paper in the case. The second is remarkably easy and takes less than 15 minutes to do. Do a quick search for "paper fix" for detailed instructions as well as feedback on how it went for others.

I really don't think it is a MS problem, I have had the same exact thing happening on tracks... it is software related. If it were the MS loosing contact, the song stops playing and usually the copyright error shows up, I know from experience :)

However, I did not know about that update, I will try that when I get home.
