I have been using Silverscreen for about six months. Since using it I been having some flakey problems with things like certain icons not showing up, or showing up twice. However, when I close Silverscreen and return to the orginal screen (I've got a Palm Zire 71), everything looks clean. And I use an uninstall manager, to keep my memory clean.
I thought for awhile that the icon problem had to do with my being a novice in using a SD card, but I am starting to think that Silverscreen is just a poor program.
Anyone else have Silverscreen? What is your experience with it. Perhaps it is time for me to buy a new launcher, any opinions on what to use would be welcome, although I know that is discussed all of the time.
Thanks!

It is Silvercreen. Last night I downloaded a demo of ZLauncher, and I was sold, and bought it this morning.
ZLauncher is so amazing, it has 200 times the capability of Silverscreen. Although it will take me some time to learn how to use it, and customize everything, it is great!
BTW: If any of you have gotten email inviting you to try Magiklink, don't bother, it is lame.

You have grown immensely in knowledge and wisdom overnight! :D
Silverscreen was the first launcher I bought when I had a Handspring Prism and didn't know any better. As soon as I bought my first Sony (T665) I found "ClieSource" and started my own path (which I'm still sojourning! :) ) toward wisdom, with all the wealth of knowledge provided by so many great PDA addicts! My next launcher endeavor was Yishow, which is pretty good, but I finally made the move to ZLauncher about 18 months ago. It is fantastic once you get past the learning curve (which is what kept me from it for a while). ZZTechs support is really good too, just keep in mind the time difference when waiting for a response since they are on the other side of the planet, i.e. daytime for us is sleepy time for them! ;)

I bought Silverscreen a few years ago for my m100 and I loved it. When I got my CLIE SL10 I hated it, the card managment was absymal and the SL10's screen was too dark for the themes to look good. (IMO, the m100 had a better screen than the SL10)
I skipped the 3rd party launchers until I got my SJ22. I tried going back to SS, but for some reason, I couldn't use the jog-dial to navigate like in the regular PalmOS launcher (although they said it would work) I tried ZL and I learned it in less than a day.

I appreciate you saying that. I get this menal block about learning new software, especially when it is robust. And I hate reading manuals. I had this same problem with Datebk5.
But, once I remove the fear of learning curve, which is really all about my impatience and dislike of frustration, its all cool.
I am just so annoyed I wasted my time with Silverscreen. I have had so many problems with it, which I was assuming had to do with file manager programs. Not so. I have to say it's expansion card support is HORRENDOUS!
And so with my new ZLauncher in hand, I set out to look into what kinda of theme sets and icon sets I could buy - seems like Silverscreen really has the market on that one. I did a search on a few sites and I would get maybe five theme sets for ZLauncher followed by 3 pages of ones for Silverscreen. But I think now why. ZLauncher is so customizable and Silverscreen isn't.

There are many, many themes! Here are some of my favorite theme sites:
ZLThemes.com - by Jeff Frankus (aka the_iceman!) (http://www.zlthemes.com)
PalmSpirit (http://www.palmspirit.com/phpmalogitheque/details_cat.php3?tri=&cat=30&page=0) - Hint: Telechargement = Download in French!
Torsten's ZL Themes (http://www.bryceart.de/clie/zlcliein.htm)
PDA Shine - by Leslie Franke (http://pdashine.lesliefranke.com/ebooks/pafiledb.php)
ZZTech's Own Listing - Very comprehensive - some free - some not! (http://www.zztechs.com/en/zlauncher/themes.htm)
Tools (for skinning, etc)
Festus440 Skin Making Utilities (http://www.festus440.happypalm.com/)
Alex Pruss' Clie Skinner (and other stuff!) (http://www.prussfamily.us/palmos_software.html) - Clie Skinner is an absolute MUST HAVE!
Some of Leslie Franke's and HazarD's older (PalmSpirit) themes have iconsets in the zip file. There are other icon sets here and there. I'm sure others can/will post some of them! ;)

Thank you very much for sharing those links.
I got some theme sets, and I am having the hardest time getting ZLauncher to recognize them. I stored them on a SD card, in the path the manual said. And it won't recognize them.
Oh well, I'll have to play around with this and do a search on here to see if this problem is commong.

So does anyone from pocketsensei come on this forum? Because what everone says doesn't bode well for them.
I did a search last night and found out that others had the same problems with theme sets on ZL I do. But, I fixed it and now I have such pretty screens and am on my way to getting addicted to finding cool themes etc. and just when I thought I had every app I ever needed and was done buying them.
PDA app buying is like that line in the Godfather: 'you try to get out, but they just keeping on pulling you back in'.
