What's with the new ads that have Audio on the site? I can't go to you site while at work anymore if you keep this "feature".
Not happy about it all.

Hi,
Yes this coupled with the Intellitext green lines or whatever they are and it is just very painful to visit here any more. :( :(
I am looking at other forums to spend my time at as a result of some of the choices made here .
Peace,
David

Yes, please do what you can to stop these audio adds. I was sitting here at a school library computer with my headphones on listening to mp3s on my TH55, when I suddenly noticed everyone around me was giving me funny looks, some of them not so funny. Then I noticed this thread title, removed my headphones, and discovered why the librarian was looking over my shoulders with a scolding look. Please stop these audio ads!

Yes! Same thing happened to me at school! I hate all of these new types of ads they are adding to 1src. Maybe 1src should open a store here or find some other way to make money to keep this site up, so they won't have to rely so much on stupid, annoying ads.
This site has led me to install adblock in firefox, so now my surfing experience is much quicker [=less bandwidth sucking] and cleaner. I feel sorry for those of you on public computers without this facility. Adverts when pushed at users to this extent have a negative affect. We're mostly an intelligent, tech savvy bunch here I feel, and ignorant abuse of us in this manner does no favours for the advertisers or 1src.

Mr Nako - Did you install the AdBlock fireFox Extension? If not, get it here first:
http://update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=10
Also check out http://update.mozilla.org/extensions/
There are lots of cool things there.
FireFox is a pretty crappy browser on it's own - Opera is waaay better IMHO (I don't get any popup ads, intelli-links OR audio ads :p)
However, FireFox really comes into it's own once you start plugging in some of those cool extensions :D

winx: Same I paid for Opera :p ;)
nako: Well enjoy :D
As I said, if you have the time check out some of the other extensions too - They make FireFox much more fun to use ;)
The Extensions are the only thing about FireFox that is tempting me away from Opera atm ;) (That and the fact that the new versions of Opera SUCK!)

We have been blocking them. It seems like there's a new set. We have blocked them already. Give it an hour or two to take effect. Thanks for reporting the ads.

Thanks for reporting the ads.Yeah, I was working today and didn't have my volume up very much. I heard some talking and couldn't figure out what the heck it was. Then I increased the volume and realized it was an ad. Glad you're on top of it!

Hmm.. I could tell people how to block these ads, but that would most likely cut into the ad revenue. I am of the opinion that flash ads are nothing but pure evil, designed to eat up all of your bandwidth.

I have made the conscious decision to not add the flash add-on to my Mozilla installation. Most of the flash you meet in regular surfing are ads. For the occasional flash that I want to see, I boot up IE and load in the URL. Doesn't happen very often.
I'd just like to say that my faith* has been restored [in 1src] - thanks guys!
*albeit blind faith - I still have the site adblocked to the extreme ;)
