I almost purchased the NX60 today during lunch. CompUSA has them for $429. They have sony Wifi Card for $99 after 50 mail in rebate. I plan to buy both, and use with my access point at home.

I wanted to ask you guys a few quick questions, before I go back and get it

1-NX60 doesn't appear to have a browser. Do I need to purchase this separately? or can it be downloaded? Anyone who browses, any issues? What should I do and not do here?

2-the screen looked great but don't seem as bright as the SJ33 or NZ90 side by side. If the settings were set equal, are the newer Sonys inherently brighter? Anyone know?

3-battery looked like it could be swapped out, using a small phillips. Anyone use the NX60 with a backup battery? Any loss of data if I were to switch them out, on longer road trips? How much for a backup battery?

4-I think the NX60 can be upgraded to accept Memory Stick Pro in the future. Is this true? How about a Sony bluetooth infostick, are these coming soon?

I love the NX due the basic design and screen size. I like that you can protect the screen with the clamshell, and also swivel to use as a table style.

I decided I don't need the camera on the PDA. My next phone will probably have a camera, (1MP coming soon), and in my opinion, it makes more sense for the phone, not PDA, to have a camera for spontaneous photos, at least for me.

Any comments on above would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if these topics already been discussed, Im new to these boards.

Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan, here we go
1. netfront is included in the package on the cd, they just don't preinstall it since it takes so much space
2. the settings on the screen you were looking at were probably set down a little, but they are equally as brignt with the nz and the sj33
3. the battery can't be screwed out that little bay thing is like a maintenence door
4. yes the nx60 will be memory stick pro compatible with the addon of a software upgrade that sony will provide

hope those help.

Thanks for your response!!

Im glad the netfront is on the CD. The guy at CompUSA didn't know, and the Sony box didn't say.

Regarding the screen, I think you are right. And Im glad it can be as bright as the other Sonys I was looking at!

I think the battery can be removed, but it may require taking the back off the PDA. Multiple screws. Since I first posted, I found www.cliebattery.com has backup batterys for $49. Im still unclear though if I would lose my data if I swapped them out. Anyway it would be a pain, and I will probably not do it afterall.

Regarding MS Pro, Im glad we can take advantage of it. Anyone know if BT stick for NX is available now?

Thanks,
Ryan
