Ive been reading a lot about people that dislike AvantGo and I ask why?

Sure they have a few bugs here and ther, but they are still in there beta stages. Isn't that understandable?.

Its a free app so why complain?

do any of you know of a good alternative to AvantGo that is free?

Users get impatient and want it yesterday. Since they acquired HiRes+ devices, they want it now! AvantGo has really been dragging it's feet and many have moved on. BTW, if your a high volume user(over 2mb), it's not free.

I think you have to pay for accounts over 2.5 megs and you have up to 10 megs. Of course i could be wrong with these numbers.

Personally, I love avantgo. I sync both my ipaq 5455 and my nx70v. I get more errors with photos not showing up on my PPC and pages not loading on the NX. Go figure.

because they are other apps that are much better such as handstory.

I had Avantgo before and I had baseball scores to be loaded. During game 6 of the SF/Calif. World Series, Avantgo's latest score posted was the 2nd inning of Game 3. Just a little slow. I think it works well for other things but not any realtime data.

The pages are a few Kb I have no need for more.

What kind of pages do you guys load on yours?
(Is Handstory free?)
