In a word TERRIBLE

In a drunken range of experementing (is that spelt right, as I said drunken) I decided to pull out my 'living in the drawer' Tungsten T and install the Audio update and all the MP3 players Pocket
Tunes, RealOne Player etc to test it's audio capabilities. Being a NX70V and iPAQ 3970 user I must ask why do they bother it sound really bad also stuttering with 192 kbps even with the Audio Update. Must admit the iPAQ is way out in front with the audio, really loud, loads of 'adjustable' bass and treble but for some reason I really love my NX70V :)

Useless post I know, once again drunken ;) :)

It's not THAT bad in my opinion. I guess Audiophiles will over analyze it. It seems OK to me.

But what the Tungsten T audio has that NO sony currently has is an audible external speaker. You can play mp3s loudly through the built in speaker, so you don't have to untangle your headphones. You can have mp3s playing in the background while you do other things, such as type on your stowaway xt keyboard. You can watch kinoma movies without using headphones as well, and this whole experience is pretty good.

I really wanted the NX, but it lacks this feature so I have to wait. My headphones aren't always on me and it would be really convenient to be able to listen to an mp3 or to watch a movie without looking for and untangling my headphones.

The TG has an external speaker also, but too bad it is on the back of the unit, where sound is sure to be muffled.

So you seriously listen to music through the built in speaker/buzzer:confused: ...Why? That's no way to listen to music whatever anyone says ;)

The same could be said for PDA's in general.

Talking of PDA's in general the iPAQ (3800/3900 series) IMHO matches any dedicated MP3 player as a ...MP3 Player for sound quality. Just like the NX70v/NR70v but with much more power. But as I said I love my NX70V.

i HAVE NO PROBLEM LISTENING TO MP3 WITHOUT HEADPHONES ON MY NX. IT'S NOT EXTREMELY LOUD NOR THE BEST OF QUALITY, BUT IT WORKS FINE.
