So we've seen and tasted the NZ90. What's next? Any idea when we'll see another high end model announced? When do these things usually happen?

November will be the next clamshell. And in November SONY will discontinue support for the NZ.

Sony will never do that to my NZ.
They will scrap the obselete NX soon, and will replace it with something even better.
Its amazing how many new PDA's sony chuck out everyyear now. I don't think its even a year since the NR70V has been selling yet.

unofficially, SONY only supports it's products for 6 months, after that it's very rare for them to release any updates, most of the time it's never. All there focus is on the new PDA(s) they just released.
Exactly, the NR is only a year old and in SONY's book it's DEAD. This is the sad truth about all SONY PDAs and Products.
In November get ready to buy something new if you have the must have the latest itch.

It's getting harder and harder to justify getting a new PDA...especially if you're trying to keep up with the Clie's. I've invested a lot with my NX (I-Volution). I don't plan on parting with it anytime soon, but November will mark one year with it and it may be time for a nice birthday present for me. Hehe.

A new NX will be announced within the next 6 weeks. Once the old model starts to disappear from the Japanese site (already in the process), you can count on the announcement of a successor soon after. Like clockwork.
I'm betting the next NX will have:
-PXA255 200MHz
-OS5.2
-32MB RAM
-Updated styling
-Improved keyboard
-Camera Flash
-Either BT or WiFi built-in
-If WiFi, then possibly dual MS slots
-Separate voice recorder button
It will probably be out in late April in Japan; May in the US. The N-series has always stuck to a rigid 6 month schedule.

Gosh I hope so. Heck, I'd be happy with the current NX with KB11 support!! Until then, I'll continue to cherish my NR70V.

There's also the possibility that the NZ90 is supposed to be the next NX. I doubt it, though, mainly because of its price.

A flash in a new NX, then wouldn't it be a NZ?

I hope there is less emphasis on the camera dominated NZ. I am really hoping for OS 6 and TV tuner.

I hope they don't make the NZ design the standard. It's too bulky. NX is already pretty big.

What so good about TV Tuner? Unless you have cable connection or in a major city wont good reception and only get 13 channels..and IMO most of the 13 chanells stink

I would hate the TV tuner if it were built in. That would just be a waste of money for me (I'd rather it be optional, since it's useless imo)

Look at the screen on the TG50 (2.8" diagonal), and it's size. There are rumors that a smaller 320*480 screen is out by Sony waiting for a device to be put in. Look for it on PIC. Supposedly, it uses less power then some of the current 320*320 screens. I think the next big Sony Clie will be a T shaped device with Hi-Res+ Screen, 27MB of User Accessible memory (32MB total), Bluetooth and user replaceable battery. I'm sure Sony reads these boards and can see the demand for the loyal users for a T sized device with a Hi-Res+ screen. It's just a matter of time.
