Wassup 1.4 available shortly

It's my great pleasure to inform you that Wassup 1.4 will shortly be available for download. But first to prepare for this event there's a little something you'll need to do first. With Wassup 1.4 we have moved towards a standard HotSync username registration scheme - this allows simpler distribution moving forward. To get to this point we've added a registration form to Wassup where you enter a magic number which will unlock the default 14-day trial version of Wassup 1.4. This magic number is based on your HotSync name... ...I'll be uploading the latest Wassup binary to Palmgear first, closely followed by Handango and then our own web server. Take your pick where you grab it from. Once you have downloaded it you will be able to register it right away with your unlock code....

Same here, and I have gone back to the earlier version as I got a partially (almost totally) blank screen with v.1.4 . Anyone else here having similar problems?

Guess I will be mailing the developer for clarification.

Wassup looks great. However, I don't use the Note Pad app for my ToDos - I use HandyShopper instead to take advantage of the alarming abilities. Is there any way to link Wassup to HS for the ToDo part?

The one thing that keeps me going back to Today instead of Wassup is the ability to have the appointment screen default to showing all of your appointments for a particular day, instead of just displaying the number of appointments and making you click on the screen to see the appointments. Perhaps something for v1.5?

Anybody else noticing that the tiny fonts in the appointments section is not recalculating the time until the next appointment? In the red font, it is showing "next in 23 hours 59 mins".

All you need to do is just tap on the appointment section with your finger and then today's appointment window will popup. This is better than ToDay because you don't need to scramble for stylus to scroll down the main screen.

I was a beta tester for Gav on this. It just rocks soo many new features.

The command bar launch lets you launch wassup by swiping the stylus on the graffiti area. aka as per a copy and paste you will notice a wassup icon there. tap it and it will launch wassup

Yes I had the same problem and spoke to Gav about this. It seems that Palmgear linked to the wrong file. (DOH)

Re download it and install it again and all should be good.

Never mind. For the heck of it, I went ahead and installed 1.4 on top of 1.3.2. And guess what? I got a white screen at the end of HotSync. Soft reset only led to flashing Palm logo. So I did a hard reset, restored previous RAM from MS, deleted the 1.3.2, installed 1.4 with Windows XP skin. Everything seems to work okay so far (fingers crossed).

Here are somethings that I have noticed in 1.4 with my slow N760C:
1. It is hard to go from one row of 5-icon launcher to another. The up and down arrows are too darn small to tap accurately and the row is slow to change. I probably just leave it on the 1st row like the older version since I use MegaLauncher.
2. The additional Batt and Mem % are nice new display features. I like being able to glance at the % battery rather than looking at the length of the bar or tapping at the bar to see the voltage.  
3. New Task, New Mail, and New Appointment features are also nice additional features. Save us few taps whenever we want to add new task, mail, or appointment w/o having to actually go to ToDo, Mail, or DateBook.

The "/" command in the graffiti area is really cool addition too.  We need this feature built-in for launching other apps too.  There are still plenty of space to fill in the bottom task bar.  This is a neat way to go back and forth among several apps.  So far I use EasyLaunch and McPhling to do this.

A skin that I made called "Jump" is not working properly. I leave two blank sections on the main screan of Wassup. The two blank sections are showing a solid white "icon" instead of the background as the other version did. Is anyone else having this problem.

DanT: I also loaded the new version on top of the old and had a fatal reset. I'm so glad I didn't get a forced hard reset issue. I just spent two days trouble shooting a hard reset as a result of other apps.

By the way if anyone is just itching to touble shoot something, the Jump (http://www.cliesource.com/sdownload/fileinfo.php?id=2639) skin is available in the skins section of this site.

I also installed 1.4 over the previous version on my T665 without a problem. I agree with the previous comments about the arrow keys in the "laucher" bar. Besides being hard to hit, changing between the 3 "bars" is slow. Has anyone figured out how to remove items from the bars? I'd like to spread them out a little by removing the 2nd and 4th (end up with 3 instead of 5). With 5, some of the text from one app runs into the text on the next one if the names are long.

I installed Wassup 1.40 (registered) on my Clie T675c and selected some apps for the launchbar that are stored on MS (Palm\Launcher\...). Wassup displays them with funny grey icons like they werent available and doesnt start them when tapping...

Mailed to Gavin and he sais: "...Perhaps the Card is removed and the app is not available..."

But thats not! Exiting Wassup and starting these Apps (like iSilo) worp grewat, but not from Wassup itself...

Any ideas?

It worked as i installed Wassup 140 first... Then i used my Clie for something else (Mails, iSilo, some Rounds of Bejeweled) and now it has these strange errors...

reinstalled it: but its the same... :o(

I was actually hesitating to try out 1.4 cuz of the bugs I'm seeing posted, but particularly because I didn't want to lose the ability to use this cool skin.

I see what you mean about the two white spaces. I'm using a T615 and it appears that you just can't choose "none". That does suck...but otherwise no problems to report (so far).

i hope that Gavin includes support for selecting smaller fonts for the appts, tasks, etc... and the lists.

I also would like an option to just select a background-image or just a color for those who dont want to use a big (kb) theme on their device...

I got the same grey looking bulldog face icons for those MS apps in the bottom launcher bar of 1.4.&nbsp; But then again I'm the one that got the white screen, flashing Palm logo after a soft reset that required a hard reset after installing 1.4 over 1.3.2 so I expected something weird showing up.&nbsp; That grey icons were easily fixed by tapping Menu, Options, Prefs, Launch, and re-entering the icons in Setup Launch Pad screen for all Rows (1, 2, and 3).&nbsp; The right icons showed up afterwards and everything runs well so far (fingers crossed).

To avoid icon with long name such as "Palm Reader" from over running&nbsp;onto the next icon, I put it in Row 3 and Pad #5 where there is no other icon&nbsp;and/or arrow to the right of it.&nbsp; The icons in&nbsp;one Row also can be arranged such that&nbsp;the icon with short name, like FileZ,&nbsp;is positioned in between the ones with long names.&nbsp;

Mine works.

The problem I have is whenever I use MSImport, some of the launcher icons from MS, at the bottom of the screen, turn into strange gray icons and tapping them would not launch the apps. They are easy to fix by resetting them in Setup Launch Pad screen, but it is annoying to do this too often.

Great! I played with MSImport and HotSync after installing v.1.4.1. So far I haven't seen the ghosts. Up &amp; down arrows in launchpad still look small but they seem to response better than the earlier version. It would be nice if I can use the up and down hard button for the launchpad up and down arrows.

What do you mean by timed data?

You may try to cleanly reinstall v.1.4.1. I did just that instead of installing it over the v.1.4. To cleanly install the v.1.4.1, first I went to the older version's Menu, Options, Prefs, and uncheck Command Bar Launch. Then I backed up my RAM to MS (just in case sh*t happens), jotted down all of the Prefs settings, deleted the old version, HotSync (to move the old version to Archive folder in PC), installed v.1.4.1, and re-entered the Prefs settings. After insuring the new version worked fine, then I went to the Archive folder and wiped out the old version.

Wassup looks like a good program, but (like someone else who posted here) I use a great app called HandyShopper for my To-Do list. Is there any way to get Wassup to recognize this program instead of the normal To-Do program?

I only see ToDo Plus in the Task Option, so I guess the answer is no. But then again Gavin is pretty responsive, go ask him.
