View Full Version : Adaptor for NX70 for phone cable to Nokia

I've got a Nokia 6185 cell phone, and I purchased the cable to connect to a laptop or PDA. Unfortunately the cable and the adaptors do not fit in my CLIE NX 70. They seem to be parallel port connections. I went to Radio Shack and they did not know of any adaptors that would work. Does anyone know of an adaptor that might work?

Hi Steve!

Adapters for which end and where did you purchase your cable?

Forget Radio Shack

The cable has to be specificaly for your model phone and clie.

Hopefully you have a serial port on your laptop. A lot of them today are coming out without a serial port.

Thanks, Larry! The cable is for my Nokia phone. My laptop has a serial port and the cable works fine. The problem is with the CLIE. Verizon (my service provider and the company from which I bought the cable (on sale for $5!)); Nokia tech support; and Sony tech support are unaware of any adapters to fit the CLIE. The cable has a male or female serial plug. My question is how to get it to work with the PDA.

Apparently, there is no cable for a Nokia phone to a Sony clie. I spent the last hour or searching the web for one. I found adapters and serial cables, but nothing to match to the Sony.

Thanks. Larry. I guess my choices are to get a new phone or a wireless card.
