I read on the sonystyle website that the TG50 has:
16Mb RAM (11Mb usable) an 16Mb ROM.
What exactly is the ROM use, is there a significant difference from a 4mb ROM to a 16mb rom? I know that it is like computer memory in my PC but I cant completely grasp the idea on how it affects the PDA. Does it store a program you run in ROM and when you run it again it does not have to access the RAM/MS and just runs it from ROM until you turn off your pda?

The ROM is where the Palm OS and all of the built in applications are stored. On the NX's I believe all but 4MB of the 16MB of ROM is used, and it's probably close (maybe a little less if the Piscel viewer is in ROM) on the TG50.

I used JackFlash to check the free ROM space on the NX. I hear that some TG's don't have flash ROM, so JackFlash won't work with them though.

Jackflash works with the TG50s that have a ROM, but I can't figure out how to download the beta without buying the program...I don't want to buy it if it won't work with my Clie...a catch 22 if I ever saw one. I can't find out if the program will work unless I buy it, but that means I have to buy it even if it doesn't work. :(

Thats a marketing ploy all right. Does anyone know of a reliable program that checks ROM size? There ought to be a free utilitiy that displays all your memory info. zLauncher has something like that, but I'm not sure how acurate it is.

Well, it is still beta software, not really for sale yet. Once a final version is out that runs on the TG, I'm sure there will be a demo version.

Here here... terue5b0@erau.edu
I need the new version so I can try it with my SJ33. Brayder support told me that the newest version of JackFlash works with the SJ33, but I'd like to try it first before buying it... You know, just to make sure:D
