View Full Version : Strange! Grafitti Area Disappeared

Something strange happened to me yesterday: my grafitti area and status bar completely disappeared. I couldn't reach any application other than the ones mapped to the 4 little buttons - but couldn't really do anything without the grafitty/decuma space. Nothing helped but a soft reset.

Have you tried loading Clie Organizer. Ive had this happen, and I loaded CO, the status bar came back.

As I said, the status bar & grafitti area came back after a soft reset, so I am not sure why I should download CO. Besides, I think I have the most recent CO version.

Not download it, just open it. I think it reloads the status bar when it opens and will make it appear if it has been closed by another application.

I get it now, I will try it next time it happens. Thanks. I still wonder why any application would close the status bar...

The OS assumes this will not happen, but some games, like pocket mini golf, run in full screen by closing the status bar. There is no need for the status bar or graffiti in the game and so I guess the programmers forgot to tell the game to relaunch the SB when the game is closed.

we do set the status bar back :) but, depending on your launcher, it may do it automatically.. 3rd party launches are not so friendly - so, developers do have to watch out how they handle the status bar and virtual grafitti areas.

I get it now, I will try it next time it happens. Thanks. I still wonder why any application would close the status bar...Are you by any chance running ZLauncher? It does that (on purpose . . .)

I am using AppShelf and my statusbar just disappeared for no reason at all. I tried your suggestions to just open-up CO or any 320x320 application, although that did the trick, my statusbar still disappears whenever I am at the main application of Appshelf. Any other solutions?

I that has happened to me recently that is why i added the statsbar da so when it disappears i can always put it back. I just have a feeling it has something to do with keepwide. It happens after every soft reset so what i do is disable or enable keepwide the statusbar will appear.

Im also getting the "intializing module" when i try to use my wifi. Sometimes when i try to connect it gets a fatal error. So i found out that if you delete the backup folder and do a clean restore it will solve the problem.
Thankfully it's fixed.
i was reading in the UX fourm that they had to return their Clies or something.

Thanks Kosmonoko. I was able to get my statusbar back by performing a restore from backup, and deleting everything from my PC's backup folder. Lucky for me, I did one babkup earlier this evening.

I was able to recreate the cause on my TH. I have MobiFish screensaver enabled after hotsync and upon placing my TH on the cradle. I found out that the statusbar disappears when I perform a soft reset while my TH is on the cradle, activating MobiFish screensaver. So basically, I'll just avoid performing a soft reset when my TH is on the cradle and all is well.
