Hi...
As the other thread about Ngage and NZ90 is a little... stupid... I make a new one for some serious questions.
The Ngage got quite cheap here in Germany and I´m thinking to get one as my old mobile does not support Bluetooth. There are some features it must support and so I would like to know if somebody tried the following:
1. Of course using the Ngage as a modem to access the Internet must be possible. Is there any problem pairing the NZ90 and the Ngage?
2. Can I transfer photos from the NZ90 to the Ngage to send them as MMS? As my old mobile has a build in camera, I do not want this not to be possible any more.
Thanks for answers :)

As nobody seems to have an answer, I answer my question myself in case of anybody else being interested:
I bought my N-Gage QD some days ago and would consider it the perfect companion to my NZ90.
Bluetooth pairing was easy and worked perfectly. I tried the most important feastures first: Using the phone as a Bluetooth Modem for Internet-Access and transferring Photos from the Palm to the Phone for Multimedia-Messaging, as the N-Gage does not have a Camera. Both worked instantly and without any problems.
After that I tried to copy over some Contacts from the Palm. I expected the Phone to reject it as it cannot use the data transferred. I was wrong: The N-Gage recognized the data as a Palm Contact and offered to convert it to its own Contactlist. It did flawlessly with every data in it´s correct fields. Very nice.
I definitely like it. If you are looking for a bluetooth enabled phone für you Palm and do like playing TombRaider or Fifa Soccer, give the N-Gage a try :)

I installed the GSM-Drivers provided by Sony and had to use the "Generic GSM-Phone" option. The SMS-Application worked but did not access the N-Gages internal Memory. It just reads SMS from the SIM-Card. Sending an SMS worked. I did not use it.
Dialing via Bluetooth? Do you think of using the Adress-Application to dial a contact? There is no option for this, imo.
Using the N-Gage as a Modem and dialing by BT is perfect. I used it to access the Internet and to directly dial in to my Computer at home. So when you have a Palm-Application offering a dial-function, it works over BT.
I mainly take Photos with the NZ ans send them as MMS with the N-Gage. This needs a second step: I simply send over everything to the phone by Bluetooth. The Documents (Pics, Text) appear as a new "Message" on the N-Gage. Then I simply "redirect" these with the phone as MMS or SMS. I would possibly do it this way even if the SMS-Application on the NZ wasn´t such a crap, as the phone gives me much more possibilities to design a Message.
What I found astonishing is the way the N-Gage and the Palm share Data. When I got my N-Gage, I was going to input all my contacts manually in Palm-Desktop. I was sure that sending over a Contact from the Palm to the phone would not work, as a Nokia-Phone would not understand the format of a Palm-Contact. I was wrong. I tried and the N-Gage came up with something like "This is Palm-Contact. Do you want it to be converted and inserted to your Adressbook?"... Sending all my Palm-Contacts to the phone was a breeze and worked perfectly.
Same for other applications. Sending an "To Do"-Item to the phone ends up as a "To Do" Item there, a note is a note, an calendar-item is a calendar item. Quite cool and much more than I have expected. BTW: All this works in both ways.
This plus Internet via NetFront plus Email plus NZ as Camera for the Phone makes this the perfect package for me.
Hope this helps...
EDIT: Annother thing came to my mind... I was not willing to pay for an BT-Dongle for my PC, which I would need to install Software to the N-Gage (as I have a QD which does not offer an USB-Connection). I now have all I need on the NZs Memory Stick and install Software over BT via the NZ. I´m using "Filez" for this, which is free. I also Backup certains SMS or MMS from the phone on the NZ. I even sometimes use the Phones (very good, btw) email-app to download mails and attachments, when fumbling around with this bulky PDA is not an option an later transfer the attachments to it to watch or use them with Picsel-Viewer or Documents to go. Whatever I do, it simply works flawlessly so I really use it regularly.

I think that you can dial, i can in my Nx73v/E, in adress aplication, click on a contact and then on menu, on the tab REDORD there is a function DIAL... with the shortcut "/I".
Take a look please and confirm this option :D, thanks for the info, is very helpful :D.
P.S.: i'm asking that bacause i'm able to get a new N-gageQD for about 90USD (80€).

Do you get charged for sending things to your phone via your nz90? Do you get charged for accessing the internet on your nz90 via the phone? I live in the u.s. and I think, though I am not sure, that I get charged for accessing the internet. I think cingular has it under m mode or something. did you find a way to get around this?
sidenote: can you use memorystick pro for sonicstage music files on the nz90? I was thinking about purchasing the nz90 but was told by a few of my friends that they heard you could not put sonicstage (atrac3) music files onto it. just wondering, thanks.

Sending Files from the NZ90 to the phone and back ist always free of charge, as they do it via Bluetooth. Accessing the Internet may result in costs, as your Mobile-Phone-Provider will charge you some. I´m from germany and I have to pay for GPRS-Traffic. You should ask your provider.
And: Your friends are right. ATRAC3-Files cannot be played from a MS-Pro. Standard MP3 work, for ATRAC3-Files you will need a normal MS.
