Well after many hours & several posts on this site of attempting to setup a WiFi hotsync, it finally worked. I dont know if anyone every called the 888 # to Sony tech support, but alot of those guys dont know what the hell they are talking about. I dont think some of them even own a Clie or Vaio. Anyway, I dont know if it was one of the IP settings or programs running on my Pc that was the problem. The Sony tech made me remove Norton Antivirus & Internet Security, Palm desktop, chang my IP address several times, & a million other things. After I got off with them, I played with it a little more, reinstalled Norton & it worked. No I'll have to try to connect to a hotsop 2morrow & hope I can on WiFi network. No more USB cable for me anymore. :D I do have 1 question though. I mostly use dialup for internet & dont use any networking with my Notebook. Should I keep the Wireless IP address that I assigned set on my pc, or switch it back to DHCP?? Also, if I take my notebook somewhere that has a hotspot & I want to connect, wouldn't I have have to change my pc IP address back to DHCP since it wont be an official address on their network??

They are usually call centers in india, philippines or somewhere and they have a manual from which they read the answers to the common questions. They are usually given an intro about the product and then after evaluation, left to man the phone lines (as tech support personnel).

I've tried a Dial-up connection (wired of course) and then connect my Clie to my laptop via ADHOC WIFI (and thus shared the Internet connection).

All of the WIRELESS LAN Setup settings in the advanced tab of the PDA were left as default (auto IP, DNS..). There are some threads in the wireless subforum that give the steps on doing this.
