About a year in the making (I'm the laziest unlazy person on earth)... the "Marathon Moron" is done.

With only a month to go until the 2004 NYC Marathon, I figured it is about time that I show the movie that I made of myself running (for the first time) the 2003 NYC Marathon... a PDA documentary shot on my UX50.

Please accept the quality (especially sound) issues, for it *was* shot on a PDA and not a broadcast quality camera. Anyway, let me know what you think...

I probably should have used subtitles... no?

I've see a bunch of posts about the video component of the UX50 being useless... I obviously disagree. UX50 and Apple's Final Cut Pro can yield some pretty decent results.

Also... please check out www.BlowlingForMorgan.com for a more recent movie I made... a rebuttal documentary to "Super Size Me" (not using the UX50).

I think you've done a great job. I'm not one for documentaries, but I'd say it's a good effort, and pretty impressive considering it was shot on the UX. The other movie is easier to watch and more entertaining to me, but perhaps just because it's lunchtime right now :)

The link you put in to the bowlingformorgan needs to be changed - there's a typo. And you should very quickly get your marathon moron movie into a bit torrent format, because I'm pretty sure it'll get blogged somewhere, and then you'll be getting a big bill for bandwidth at the end of the month.

Nice work!

not too bad, but not as good as a Sony d600 Betacam SP and a Avid MC Adrenaline :)

yeah... the "movie" stinks as far as content goes (it was made for my family and friends 2 see), but i thought it was kind of interesting 'cause it was shot on the clie.

crud! i stink. i *am* a moron.

it is: www.BowlingForMorgan.com

good advice. i'm already paying for a video hosting server, why not use it and not just a web server.

the "Marathon Moron" (clie movie) can now be seen here:

the link in the original message will be removed. (i should really thing these things thru)

>>> Nice work!

I just watched your other film and i liked that much better, a little more thought provoking than the marathon one. Production values where alot better. Im an avid editor and shooter, but im too wrapped up in a company trying to make money (corporate, and commericals), so i cant ever get around to doing the cool independent stuff.

I'm sure this took a LOT of editing work, which takes forever. I'm very impressed. Haven't seen the other flick yet 'cause I'm at work. Great job. Makes me want to see what my crummy Zire 72 movie camera can do (320x240 WOW!!!!).
