What's up with the Clie prices? They seem reasonable at first glance, but you gotta pay another hundred bucks to get a sync cradle! What happened to the days when these were standard issue with a PDA purchase.
I was seriously considering the TG50 at $400. but if I cant even sync it for that much forget it.
I might have to start lookin at a Tungsten sorry to say.

The TG50 comes with a cradle. Here's from the specs page at Sonystyle:

• PACKAGE CONTENTS
CLIÉ HANDHELD
USB cradle (for HotSync® operation)
Stylus
AC adapter
AC cable
Hand strap
Installation CD-ROM
Instruction manuals
Graffiti® card
End User License Agreement
Limited Warranty Statement

The one thing it doesn't include is a 3.5MM headset.

Why do you think that it doesn't come with one?

We don't need the headphones anyways. They suck.

Why is the cradle black, not a silver one?

you don't realize how bad they suck until you try a decent pair, I wish I could send mine back to Sony and get my nickel back....

Opps, my bad. I just didnt see it when pulling it up on SonyStyle. Plus I had read in a reveiw of the SJ33 that there wasn't a cradle included.
OK what about a remote for the audio player? Is it availible as an accessory?

Remotes are available only on the high end N-series models.

even the cliés that don't come with cradles still come with cables... so you can sync all of them, that's never an issue.  i have an sj33, and i use easylaunch to make the 'to do' button my hotsync button, since i don't use it for anything else.  i don't miss having a cradle at all... just took up valuable real estate on my desk.

I agree,

All I have todo with the SJ30 is plug it in. No need for cradle.
Now that I will be getting the TG50, the cradle will just take up space.

Don't forget - the TG50 has bluetooth...so cradles will soon be obsolete...

Cradles will still be useful because it easy to charge with a cradle. Plus cables are quicker than BT.

I noticed it doesn't come with Docs2Go.  Is the TG-50 not "high end" enough to come with this app?

i thought i read the new Piscel Viewer handles Word docs and such... Sony has to include some type of Document reader/editor. if the T665 included it, the TG50 will, too.

The TG50 comes with PicselViewer, which is a viewer for all types of formats (Word, Excel, PDF, and tons more) but it doesn't allow you to edit. If you need to do that, you'll have to buy something like the new Quickoffice.
