Hi,
Would like to find out if the memory stick prices, and the similar Sony accessories are cheaper in Japan, then in Singapore? Or maybe cheaper than America?
Thanks for any information.
Or if you don't know, then at least let me know the prices of the Memory sticks in Japan, then I'll do my own conversion.
Also, would like to know the prices , if possible
the Teleconverter and the Wide angle lenses for the F717.
Checked the Sony website, and have a rough indications. But would appreciate any input on "REAL" market prices on these items.
Thanks ever so much.

Check out this website:

The last time that I visited Japan I saw that the prices are very consistent with this. So this is an 'average' price guide.
Currently, the memory stick prices in Japan are just a little less than here in the UK. They were half the price until the GB market prices dropped recently!
Generally speaking I have found nearly all Sony Clie and Vaio devices and accessories to be a lot cheaper in Japan than the UK. And Japan is supposed to be an expensive place! I bought my BT memory stick in Tokyo and saved nearly £60 over the UK price at the time, but now dabs.com here has the BT stick for nearly £30 cheaper than I got it for!

There are far better deals available in the U.S. I'm afraid. Stores here don't really go into discounting and so prices tend to be fairly uniform. The biggest discount stores are Yodobashi Camera and Sakuraya, if you buy from them 10-13% of the price is put onto a store card to go against your next purchase. For example I bought my 717 and accessories from Sakuraya and then 5 minutes later 'bought' a memory stick using my just earned points. Anyway here are the current prices for sticks:
128m 8,480 yen
256m 17,800 yen
512m 39,800 yen
1gig 79,800 yen
All these pay back 10% in points. With regards lenses, take a look at Yodobashi's list at
http://www.yodobashi.com/enjoy/productslist.jsp?oid1=89&oid2=787&oid=787
Even if your computer can't make out the Japanese characters you should be able to identify the lenses and prices. If you can read Japanese then check out http://www.kakaku.com (http://www.kakaku.com/ they) they give the best prices for products in Japan in some very obscure places (actually the site seems to be down at the moment). Good luck!

I found some cheap prices at Kakaku, see this link (if you can't read Japanese don't bother looking) http://www.kakaku.com/sku/price/052500.htm
128m 6199
256m 15980
512m 34980
1gig 69,800
The new stick prices are from a place called Step2 in Shibuya, considerably cheaper than the major outlets. Will have to go and have a look. One point to remember is that, wherever you go, you must add on 5% consumption tax to all listed prices. A couple of other places I should perhaps mention are Bic Camera, Japans biggest outlet and similar to Sakuraya. The other is Takeya in Okachimachi near Ueno, a very famous series of discount stores, the main attraction being that they are tax free for everyone.
