i have an old 615, and am thinking of getting something "newer",,,maybe a tj27. if i do so, i was wondering if i could do either of the following,,,,,,,

1...install backupbuddyvfs on the newer model,,,pop in my MS,,,transfer all my backups to the tj27

2...give the newer tj the same name as my 615 and simply hotsync

3...is there a better option?

i know that BB will transfer all my preferences, i just want to know if this is a workable plan. and i also realize that some apps will not work on the latest palmOS(the 615 is a v.4), but will this cause any hiccups in the process(1..some incompatable apps will not transfer, 2..will transfer but not work). i just want to take precautionary steps.

also,,,which clies have the brightest, best color screens, and is the tj27 a good one?

thanks

There are likely to be hiccups. In fact, you'll probably have the thing crash many times over. When I went from an SJ20 to a TJ35, I had lots of problems. These problems were created by just a few files from the old system. I ended up hard-resetting, and installing all my apps from scratch. In the end, this is a better method anyway. Who knows how many useless files you'll be transferring from your old unit to your new one? It's just not worth the hassle of trouble shooting after the fact. Install fresh! You won't be sorry.
