I saw this in the NX thread and it was very interesting to read others "horror" stories about their clies, like dropping it, or having their 2 year old daughter running throught the house with it. I just wanted to know some of the t-series scariest moments!!!!
But how boring am I, I don't have one yet!!

I threw a piece of gum into the garbage can next to the toilet in my bathroom...and missed. I bent over to pick it up and guess what slid out of my shirt pocket. Oh yeah, the lid was up too:rolleyes: . My new 615C bounced from one side of the seat to the other, then landed.....the tension is building......

on the bath mat! No kerplunk this time.:D

Now I know why my wife always wants me to put the lid back down.;)

Just recently a guy was sweeping the floor and I moved my feet to give him access to the floor, but I forgot that my NR70 was in my lap, OPEN. It fell 2 feet but I got lucky, no scratches, no shattering of glass. Though I did have to snap the plastic hinge back together.

back when Spiderman first came out i had a T415. it was resting nciely in my pocket when, after the movie, my young rashness overcame me and i attempted to be Spiderman myself. I used my friend's truck as my object of climbing, much to the enjoyment of several carloads of local college and high school students... unfortunately, the front bumper is not a friend to my Clie: broken screen, but within 30 days and i was able to return it to Best Buy.

I then upgraded to a T615 which served me well for about six months. Stupid me, of course, didn't learn my lesson: with my Clie calmly resting in my pocket I again mounted the front hood (of the same friend's truck, same parking lot) and smashed the digitizer of the screen.

Actually, I think the scariest thing that ever happened to me was with my Visor Deluxe, and I have two stories to tell.

I had gotten it for Christmas the same year it came out, 1999. I used it up until 2001 for practically everything. During that time I was not only going to college but working there as well. I used my Visor Deluxe to keep track of everything including assignments, the scores I got back and even track of an audit the department I worked for was doing on the computers and other hardware in ThinkDB at the time. I had set it down by my workstation when I was working. When I came back to use it, I powered it on but it looked like some strange discharge or something was going on with the screen. It all looked like a Pablo Picasso painting with the myriad of shades and patterns. I did both a soft and hard reset (I had a backup module, so no data was lost) and nothing worked. I even left the batteries out and nothing happened!

Well, I contacted Handspring and after 15 minutes of "troubleshooting" they gave me an RMA number. A day later I got a box to send the unit back to them. After a few days I got a reburished model for a replacement, which I was not happy about. I used it for a while, and then the same strange thing happened to it while it was in my pocket (and I hadn't bumped into anything). I sent that one in for a replacement and I got a refurbished back. Well, after a month of calls back and forth I finally got a new model like I wanted instead of some refurbished model.

I used that "new" model up until the end of 2001 when in the end of November I picked it up off of my nightstand to use it. I didn't grab it right because it fell right from my hands and hit the carpeted floor. It's fallen like that before, so I thought nothing of it until I took the cover off and saw the cracked screen. Crap. I knew Handspring would charge for the screen.

It was around the same time frame that happened the N760C was released (nice timing for the VD to break ;-). What did I do? I sold the Handspring accesories, trashed the Visor (sold the shell at work for a dollar - people will buy anything there) and signed up for a BB card to buy the N760C with. That is when my obsession and rampant purchases began...

With the N760C it worked great until it went through the washing machine (forgot to check my pants, D'oh). Well, that went in for the T615C. I've gone through several other models since then, and I'm now waiting for a TG50.

My scariest moment was when I dropped my S320 on my basement concrete floor. Knowing how weak the power button was, I panicked and quickly picked it up. Luckily, my leather case saved the button, although it did get knocked loose, and is a little hard to turn on now.

Well my scariest two moments are:

1. I had the Clie in my Shirt's Pocket and it fell out.
I saw it falling in Bullet Time ^^ And I was even able to catch it :)

2.Looked at the Battery after 45 Minutes of usage...
This was my first Clie week and hey my big fat IIIc lasted one, two weeks without charging.

I dropped my T415 on the hard hospital floor while my wife was in labor. The fall dented the power button corner. I was trying to use Contraction Timer to keep track of her labor contractions. I am happy to report that my wife, baby, and Clie are all fine.

***Warning*** Use a lanyard during labor!!!

I have one of those aluminium Rhino Skin cases for mine. It's nice because it protects it, but at the same time it's kind of slippery and easy to drop. I was in a meeting and dropped it on a hard tile floor. It cracked the screen and I had to replace it. It was a LOOOONG month without my Clie.
