Hello from the land of the Australian F1 Grand Prix....
I've got a question:
Im trying to locate a program where i can have on my Sony whereby i can keep track of my inventory i have for my small business. Id also like to have a desktop version whereby i can quickly and easily have the data and be able to transfer it back and forth to my unit via sync.
I havent had much luck finding anything really useful. The closest ive found is SplashShopper. Although its not really a inventory program it does sort of meet my needs.
Anyone know of a better alternative?

When I used to work for a large Australian steel company (well, former all Australian steel company ;)) I used to use ThinkDB (now owned by DataViz) to manage computer resources, and would sync my databases to an MS Access database I had developed.
It was a customised solution, but sometimes you need to get your hands dirty and build something to your own needs.

PS: I'd kill for a pie and chips (washed down with a coldie).

What about setting up a database using SmartListToGo (it also has a Desktop app--)? I've played around with it a little, but it's around $50 . . . too expensive to buy to 'play with'. They've got a lot of pre-made databases too, which should give you a pretty good idea of what it can do . . . and it can do LOTS.
GOOD LUCK!:)

i have seen some apps that can you can customize by setting up various access databases (and the like) to intergrate with a particular inventory app. the problem is that time is essential to me at the moment. i havent really got any free time to start something.
splashshopper whilst not really an inventory program does allow me to run an inventory list pretty easy. in fact i use it for various purposes.
the fact that it has a desktop version which syncs easily with its handheld counterpart is a real plus. in fact you use it exactly the same way as you would use it on the handheld.
its just missing some features i would find most usefull.

Have you looked at HandyShopper? It is free, and has a great support group. I know others use it for inventory, and have uploaded some files. Or else post there (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/handyshopper/) and I'm sure someone will have some good ideas.

i actually had handyshopper before getting splashshopper. both of these two apps are very good and nearly the same. only difference i found is that splash had a desktop (pc version) and handy didnt.
ill take another look at the url and seeif theres anything new. thanks for the update
