A few months back I got an NX70 and decided to give my girlfriend my N610C. The IT guys at her firm insist that there is no way to get hotsync to work on NT. I've looked into this and I have yet to find any reference to hotsync or the palm desktop having issues with Windows NT. Are these IT guys just dragging their asses because they don't feel like installling the software or is there a legitimate reason why you can't get an N610C to work with NT?

NT4 = no USB support. Unless you can figure out a way for you to synch your N610 through some kind of USB > serial adapter, they are right.
BTW what kind of place is still stuck on NT4 instead of moving on to Windows 2000 (NT5)?

probably works for the same one as I do where we are waiting for XP to become stable rather than upgrade, upgrade, upgrade every 30 minutes...
Sony devices WILL NOT work on NT4 even with the serial adaptor as the Palm Desktop software has been tweaked to remove this feature....
USB only peeps.... sorry.. and as the previous guy stated... NT4 = NO USB

The old software should work. I had a 610 and had to use a serial connector to hot sync at work.

The S series serial cradle should work - it does with Win95.
BTW - where I work most folks are going to be upgraded this year from Win95 the XP. I'm sure we won't be the last 'big company' do this either!!

I have personally used my N710 at work on an NT4 workstation.
I would not have given the link for them to spend their money on a cable if I did not know that it works. Our software approval people, would make people buy serial cradles for their palm M500's and M505's because we were and still are in some situation's running NT4. They had not approved W2K yet. Now from what I know the M50x series is a usb device just like the sony's. These devices, iPAQ's included (if you look at the 3800 and 3900 series iPAQ's the cradle has both a USB and Serial connector) can sync either way as long as the cable is wired correctly.
Here's two examples of converting usb to serial.
I'm not expect you to try this, it's just to show that if you have the right cable you can sync which ever way you want.
