I'm looking for a good map program that I can use without a GPS but I can still input two seperate addresses/intersections and get driving directions.
Any suggestions?

First bump.
I'm thinking Mapopolis, it's only 34.95 with no GPS support. Anyone agree with me?

if you want to be able to get directions on your pda itself, then mapopolis for palm os is your best bet. you should also get the points of interest.
if you want to map directions on your pc first, then there are other pda gps options.
on the other hand, the most basic solution being, simply using free mapblast or something like that, saving, and pretty much any image viewer.

Mapopolis is to my knowledge the best app for the job. I like the contact lookup for directions as the best feature. I always place contact info in the address book and mapopolis knows just what your looking for.

Okay, I'm close to buying it. The only thing I see wrong with it is that each Platinum map costs $10. I live right next to LA and I think it would be a waste of money to have to buy the Los Angeles map, Orange County map, San Diego map...
Is there a cheaper/better way?

you might as well buy a mappack, vs individual counties.
as far as palm os mapping and gps goes, mapoplis is the best. on the other hand for pocketpc, there are several other mapping options.

yeah, buy a $35 map pack subscription for a year. With the mappack you can download the entire US major road and county maps. If you ever travel you can door to door across the country. I think for $35 that's the best deal.

I don't know if it's the simplest or cheapest, but I am a fevered devotee of all things DeLorme. I can't wait until the 2005 stuff comes out.

the delorme is nice as well, but pretty much is a pc companian map. as a standalone and point to point map, mapopolis i think is easier to use, plus has better map memory management on your card.
