I can't tear myself away from worldwar (zagware.com) and strategic commander (zindaware.com). graphics suck on both of them but I am addicted.

Rook's Revenge
Super Solitaire 15
Bejewelled
I would LOVE to be playing TETRIS, but I can not get a version that will work with the Clie Game Controller. I am loth to use the application buttons for Tetris, since that is how I ruined them on my Palm Vx!

if you have completed ricochet try kickoo's breakout or red mercury's atomsmash. they are both same type of game as ricochet. breakout is hires+ and looks great. atomsmash doesn't look the best but has extra level packs created by 3rd parties making playability almost unlimitied.

Race Fever is still great and is smoother to play than the new crop of texture-heavy "3D" games (I say "3D" because its a fake distort a single, flat bitmap kind of 3D a la that old DOS game, Wacky Races)
The corners in Race Fever are all smooth - compare that with the jagged courses in Napalm Racing and GTS...
I really like Stone Age (palmsw.com) it has outstanding graphics.

You have no idea what a classic is.
utah, Bejeweled is a real classic. I believe this game would still be played in years (like Tetris for example also were played for years over years after its release).
Right now im playin

Bejeweled is a 1-star-out-of-5 piece of boring garbage. It is about as much fun as watching paint dry - no wait I think I prefer watching paint dry zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Bejeweled is... OK... it is not all its cracked up to be IMHO.

I am playing GTS Racing Challence. It's a nice little racing game to just pick up and play. I also like Defender II from the Midway Arcade Classics.
lol @ This Bejeweled hating! Agreed!
That game is garbage, it's all about beating your high score. Nothing else to do at all.

I was playing insaniquarium. It got boring though... finished it in two days.... played the time trial/challenge tanks a bunch, but it's kinda dull now.
Text twist is sometimes fun.
ScummVM is great... except that it crashes and corrupts my save games.
I need to find some other game to play... and companies have to release more non-puzzle games (there are so many of these out for Palm now).

I know how to play it. It did get boring quickly though. It's okay.... I don't play it anymore though. It's too simple imo.
iebnn, k, so you never played it. Cause noone out there whom played it would even think for a second that its too simple. Especially not at the Timed version.
iebnn
03-18-2003, 06:26 PM
That's a pretty ignorant thing to say. That's like me saying that everyone must like the game Rogue Spear because I like it a lot. Aren't I entitled to my own opinion on the game?
I've tried the Timed mode. It's still boring. I only keep it on my palm because some other people like playing it.
utah, you simply dont get the point of PDA gaming. We arent sitting for hours in front of our PDa screens. We use it for some short timespan at the underground or while waiting for something. Thats why puzzle games are the most sold genre for PDA games, cause it fits perfectly to the PDA user needs.
And like it or not .... Bejeweled is by far the best of them. Its an all time classic every Palm and PPC user will even remember in decades ("Remember old times when we played Bejeweled on our organizers" ;) ). And as every classic title it also has its haters (there were even people at the 80s which hated PacMan). And you are simply one of them.

Utah?
Geez, aren't we all entitled to opinions on games? I don't go around flaming people who like bejeweled (like some others here), I just express my opinion (once) in here on the game (that personally I do not enjoy playing it), and I get flamed for it....
I'm not a "hater." I just don't enjoy playing it. What am I supposed to do, force myself to play it just so I can "fit in" better with people like you?
And I wouldn't want to sit for hours in front of my PDA screen. There are other games I play for less than five minutes and enjoy MUCH more than bejeweled on my Clie. And they're not all puzzle games. And yes they can still be played for a couple minutes and still be fun.
iebnn, where exactly do i mention, that you have to like Bejeweled. As with evwery All Time classic there are always a group of haters too.
My statement centered on your strange quote, that this game is too easy. You could call it for example boring and this is simply your opinion. But calling it too easy, is something which isnt an opinion, but instead something you have to undermine with facts. Which you didnt.
iebnn
03-18-2003, 07:05 PM
I didn't say that the game is too easy. I said it's too simple. There is a difference.
You said that I have never played it because I do not like it and I think it is too simple. Thus you are saying that if I had actually played it I would have liked it. Because, by your logic, if I don't like it I couldn't have played it. You didn't directly say that you HAVE to like bejeweled, but you did say that if you DON'T like bejeweled, you can't have already played it (which basically means the same thing).
Again, I didn't ever say it was too easy. And I have played it. I know the "facts." I have played it several times. I know how it works. I've played it for a couple hours probably. Stop assuming things.

Pocket Mahjong (harrison leong's version, not the "for Clie" one)
* the first program I felt "worthy" of registering for my m505 way back when, love the custom "rules"
kMoria
* MUST STOP DYING a mere 100 ft down! :P
Bookworm
* six-eight burning tiles and all you think is "damage control" probably would've been second paid-for game if not for empty space bug
Billiards
* second game I've paid for; would be *awesome* if english
worked properly (cue ball good, object ball none)

kMoria, as mentioned above, should be good. I haven't tried it, but I've tried another variety called "iRogue" which is a remake or a port of a very old game. If you haven't tried it, it's a great game for the palm. absolutely no flashy graphics, but really cool gameplay... if you like hacking your way through a dungeon, picking up scrolls and potions, and gaining experience. It's very complex if you can look past the appearance :) and it autosaves your progress, so you can just play a little at a time.
And it's free :)

Yes, I agree--iRogue is awesome! I will go back to hunt for the Amulet every now and then, but now that I've got a character in kMoria that's actually got some levels accumulated, I've been locked into that.
For those interested in this type of game for your Clie, check out this site: http://roguelike-palm.sourceforge.net/ . iLarn, another variant, currently is one of my wife's faves. I'm still waiting for a conversion of Angband for Palm OS!

Cool... how is kMoria for stability though?
It sounds like a better version, but I really am trying to avoid having to hard-reset my Clie :)

I've got a NR70V (which due to the keyboard/virtual graffiti is perfect for this type of game) and haven't had any crashes due to kMoria. Granted I'm also not running any hacks right now, so I have little that'd conflict w/ it.
Oh, and one more game I've started playing a lot lately: Patience. More solitare than the mind can comfortably comprehend; I solved the reported "screen drag" bugs by simply disabling hi-res for that program in prefs. Hi-res doesn't add too much to the gameplay anyway.

Ah yeah... I've started to play kMoria... I must have played a version of it long long ago, because it's all coming back to me :) Very fun.
Too bad it doesn't have the custom graphic tile support that they've added to iRogue.. I've made myself some nifty color tiles for that game now. Oh well, kMoria is still cool for its extra features.
Which version of rogue/hack/moria was it that you could have a little dog run around the dungeons with you, anyone know?
