Anybody know of a program that will allow an application to view its contents in landscape? In particular, for Docs to Go spreadsheets and word documents.

I believe there was a hack for the NR under OS 4, but that this will not work for the NX.

Any advise greatly appreciated

Hey robbee,
On the start page of ClieSource, there is an article about a program that does what you ask. I don't know anything other than they show a PDA with a landscape view. The address of the program is: http://www.cerience.com./ I hope this helps.

There are apps that can work widescreen. There is no general app to make all apps have widescreen view though, sorry.

I read the issues, tried it still, and no problems whatsoever.

I love the integration between word, excel, as well as internet explorer.

I tried converting some large text (with background color) based webpages as well as word documents and no problems on my NR70v. I do wish that I had OS5 though, as it is kind of choppy scrolling or switching pages in landscape mode, its bearable though...

try it out, Repligo is a great product!

Does it do native as with quick office 7 or do you have to 'translate' the files first?

Wordsmith's integration may partially be the culprit in MS Word XP, corrupting the normal.dot file. The jury is still out, but the developer is on top of it.

Unfortunately, you need to translate it the files first.

What you (and I) really want is Picsel Viewer. It does native files.

I do a lot of reading and document work on my NX60 and I am using RepilGO on their 14 day trial period. It is impressive and I have had no problems. Voyager's message has the link.

that's why i want a program that can rotate to landscape view...on other programs...b/c if i am not mistaken repligo is just a viewer...whereas wordsmith can view and edit...

I was alittle disappointed with Repligo. It is a viewer and you do have to go through the translate process. I liked the idea of accepting a spreadsheet in my mail, sending it to my Ms, and being able to edit it. Then sending it back via the email....

Repligo is great for viewing PDF's and Coral as these tend to be viewed by me, but for the 'standard' office tools i would probably stick with the office 7 suite.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the problem with rotating to landscape mode stems from the fact that the palm API does not have a function to natively do this.
I know that the PocketPC programming API does have a function like this -> and that is why it is more common on PocketPC's.
Hence, if you want to have a generic landscape view on you palm os pda( ie for all apps), you have to write your own low level code that overrides/catches the screen writing calls and modify them...

Basically, from what I can see, but I am not a programmer either.
