Have a question for the more experienced Zod users as I just upgraded from my Clie' NX60. I got real comfortable w/ OKey that let me use sections of the silkscreen bar to navigate the hard button programs. Anyone aware of any software like that that is cheap or free?

Second, I used to use JBBackup with what I though were mediocre results. What software are you guys/gals using now? Is Back-up Buddy VFS better on the Zod than JBB-up? Other solutions than those two? Two years w/ the Sony back-up software that performed flawlessly have spoiled me. Too bad the NX60 had to croak, but I'm very well pleased with the potential and power of the Zodiac.

Thanks for your help,

Buck

Backup Man works fine on my Z2. It is much cheaper than BB VFS. I have never used JBBackup.

Thanks for the feedback. I may give that one a try when the free trial of bbvfs runs out.

I use CardBackup on my Zodiac. Had to do a full restore from it recently and it worked flawlessly.

Does CardBackup let you select the SD card it's going to? This is the problem I have with Backup Buddy VFS...since the Zodiac has two SD slots plus the Internal "Card".

Thanks,
Deanne Jensen

Yes, you can select which card to use for backups. You can also 'install' it on a card. Then if you have to restore from a crash or something just insert the card (or pop out and reinsert the card) that CardBackup is installed on. CardBackup will run and you can restore, backup or exit as you wish.

When my Zodiac crashed and I had to do a hard reset, I just popped in the card with CardBackup installed on it, selected Restore and I was back in business in minutes.

I also use this program on my UX50.

One thing to note is that CardBackup does not remember which card you've selected when doing Automatic Scheduled backups. It always seems to default to the 'internal' card. I aways do manual backups so it is not a problem for me. I understand there is a beta version that addresses this problem available if you contact the developer.
