Seems like there should be a dedicated ZLauncher Forum section here at CS, or maybe sub-forums under the "Launchers" forum for the more frequently discussed launchers.

That would be nice, actually. Obviously it wouldn't be fair to just have a ZLauncher forum, but I like the idea of separate sub-forums.

It's called ZL Lounge :)

and maybe a bejewelled forum too?

I think we are lucky enough to get a launcher forum seperate from the apps forum

How about a forum where people can just chat and say hi?

I believe you already started that during your last incarnation, still a good idea though.

Despite what people think of Zlauncher (as "the best" or "the only launcher to consider"), it is one launcher of many and they are doing a lot of updates to generate discussion. Others will have their day and Zlauncher will be superceded one day.
I don't think sub-dividing a general category would serve a purpose in the long run. We'd have a lot of dead forums where nothing happens for a long time (if at all).

Agree with Yorrick. Was only a couple of months ago that the unending discussions were about LauncherX.

I concede that this is a valid point.
It was nice when people tried to use the "ZLauncher Lounge" thread to keep all ZL postings consolodated, as you can see here in "Launchers" there are many ZL threads now.

I disagree (as I noted in a thread in apps) about the Zlauncher mega-thread. The thread is so long now that it's not useful in searches. Which means more repeats on questions.

Besides, any launcher has so many different features (backgrounds, speed, memory stick management, utilities, image viewing, etc) and most folks are interested in some but not all of them or are interested how specific applications that interface with whatever launcher they are using.

I personally prefer the more specific threads -- but then, I'm a big user of the search function.

But I've seen posts from others who have said they've TRIED to find an answer in the big Zlauncher thread and just got too tired of reading through how ever many pages long it is now.

I agree that specific ZL threads have their advantages - especially for those that don't frequent this site and those new to ZL. However, for many seasoned fans, the "lounge" was a place they visited almost every day for a variety of reasons. I poked my head in at least once a day so I never had the herculean task of wading through hundreds of posts at one time.

I do think that the ZL lounge should have it's place here, as well as it's more condensed cousins.

Being the best launcher out there with plenty to discuss, I couldn't agree more in starting a ZL-specific forum.
