What exactly is the advantage of powerrun?

I've been simply putting all of my programs in the launcher directory on the memory card and running them from there, and it seems to be working out pretty well. I was just wondering that the advantage of power run is over simply doing that? Is there one?

PowerRun handles databases plus apps. Do a search of the forums on PowerRun and you'll see this explained in more detail in many other posts.

If you have an app that has a large database associated with it, that's when PowerRun really shines! It's the only app that can move NetFront to the MS.

Personally I haven't needed to use it yet, as I have over 5mb's free in RAM, 28mb in the /Palm/Launcher folder.
