Hello,
I use a sony SL10 and my wife uses a Palm Vx, is there a way that we can have the phone book (& memo pad) sync to the same data base on the PC, so that we can always have the same numbers on both PDA's, some thing like common categories.
thanks...

Well, the do-it-yourself solution would be to simply copy the contents of your address folder on the PC (by default in C:\Program Files\Sony Handheld\<YourName>\address) to hers after you sync, and vice versa. Not pretty, but I think it would work. I'm sure there are some more elegant solutions out there.

The above solution should work.
My wife and I use WeSync but they are no longer accepting new users.

Have you tried SyncUs?
PalmGear Application Description:
<DIV class=copy>This Windows program lets you share/sync information between 2 or more handhelds. It shows you the calendar/address/todo/memo items that are different on 2 handhelds, and lets you transfer any of these items to the other at the click of a button. It is ideal for partners to share dates and addresses when they both sync to the same PC. It saves a lot of "have you got this date in yours?" and "I've got their new number, haven't you?" SyncUs runs entirely on the PC. The program alters the PC versions of the files - a hotsync is then needed to update the handhelds. </DIV>Here's the link on PalmGear: http://makeashorterlink.com/?E17F354C3
If you decide to try it, please let us know how you make out.

You know... I would pay very good money for a program that works like Wesync that will also support Macs.
My wife and I have been using wesync for a long time now, and it is perfect for our needs, except that it doesn't work on a mac, which means she has to bring it home and remember to use a PC in the house to get the shared calendars..
The other thing that none of these do is allow you to have 3 seperate calendars... one for you, one for your wife, and one that is shared between the two of you.. that's what I need - she has no need to see my work calendar, nor I hers...
*sigh*
And of course, knowing that wesync may die at any moment is really bothering me to move to something else...

I have exactly the same need as the first poster - sync certain Palm address books (but not all of them) with my wife. The idea is that for our shared address books, I get the changes she makes, she gets the changes I make. WeSync does this quite well, but as noted, it's no longer open to new users. A user here - Pierre? - has mentioned some possibility that it will be revived by Palm. Another problem - WeSync doesn't work with OS 5 devices. So much for upgrading to the Z71.
SyncUs is probably what you should use for now. It is pretty clearly a minimal rework of a very old (hey, circa 1998 is OLD for Palm!) program called SyncUp. It compares each of your listings to each of your wife's listings and notes where they are different. You get to select which version to use, and then it is imported to both Palms. SyncUs claims to support categories, which would be a major improvement over SyncUp, which simply dumped all your changes into the unfiled category. Still, it looks like SyncUs will still requires a fair amount of user intervention. WeSync was/is essentially automatic. Darn lucky I'm an existing user!
