I'm having a problem with my new NZ when using Clie Remote. I just upgraded from an NR that had a very strong signal from the IR port. I could operate the TV from about 15-20 feet with no problems.

I was trying out the remote with the NZ last night and it would not work from even 12 feet. I have to be about 10 feet away and it's very particular about the angle. This is a big disappointment since I used this feature frequently with my NR and was quite happy with the performance.

The only thing I can think of that could be causing a problem with the NZ is the battery was rather low (probably about 35%). Could that be causing the problem? I've even tried a soft reset with no luck.

Is anyone else experincing this problem or do I have a bad unit?

I think the NX and NZ were weaker. Some have said there is two IR emitters, one low power and the other high power. In any case the regular RMC app range is very limted. Some claim they don't get more than 5 feet. I guess if your getting 10 feet, your not doing bad at all.

Nz, 50% on battery, 17' to the TV. Works up to that point but thereafter I have to move through the french doors into the dining room. It quits working right at the door, so it might be some wierd deal with the signal bouncing/hindered by the doorway...
