I've just made a poll to see the exciting result! Although VZ90 is in its early stage, give your thoughts here.

IMO the TH55 would be it (the European version with BT)... of course I would have liked a faster processor BUT Pa1mOne has issues with battery life =/

so th55 is best pda what you can get, but in my opinion there is still missing netfront java support and landscape support + multitasking...

so those things can effect veryyyy[U] much will i trade to pocket pc where is java support and multitasking support...

TH55 whips everything IMHO, but they're so hard to get that I doubt you'll be able to get one :(

I thought TH55/U was the best when I got one in February. Now I think TH55/E (w/ Bluetooth) is better, so I grabbed one off ebay while it was fairly new as it is getting rare to find brand-new one nowadays. This TH55/E will be a collector item I think.

The TH55/E is the best of those choices by far! I'm not impressed with the VZ90 beyond its the pretty screen. And with due apologies to those who love its functionality, I've always thought the UX50 unattractive. The TH-55/E represents Sony's zenith in the PDA market IMHO.

Ux50 All hands Down. Bluetooth, wifi plus keyboard and more memory.

i they add keyboard to Vz with both bt and wifi, we are very close to perfect!

To me, UX50 screen is too small. TH55 has 56mm x 82mm screen (4592 mm2 or 7.11 in2). What is UX50 screen size?

Having VG and Jot makes keyboard unnecessary.

The clamshell design makes the device thick. Even on TH55 I had to remove the flip cover, which brings the thickness down to 13mm (barely over 1/2").

You may need to carry it with this shoulder strap since pocket is out of the question.

If they offered English localization for the VZ90, I'd be all over it. I'm an early-adopter, and it looks pretty darned nice.
Dammit, Sony!

Dan,
Thats a nice picture! do they sell such a thing???
sony knows that they have a dumb and blind followers. they relased ux50 before it was ready. it had a defective design, and I proved to be correct. the vz, should have been ux50. still they decided to omit BT, although i dont care much about Bt. except, A BT keyboard, or some form of KB to attach to the device would have been nice for writing long texts. they also didnt wait for latest OS. not sure tho, if it is upgradeable to os6. but most importantly now, vz can be used in landscape mode. i hear that people also complain about HHE. I wonder if costs of developing a new processor justifies it. they could simply use one of many processors already available...compare all this to ppc world, you get everything now for the same or lower price. that includes user replaceable battery. there was a rumor that sony was going to make ppc, i wish they did, it would have been a blast. I think eventually palm will sink, and all developers with good softwares will port it to ppc...

No. wellsjs mentioned about this little-giant gizmo may come with shoulder strap, so I googled it and found http://www.styluscentral.com/pdaspdapcas.html sells such a shoulder-strap PDA case and posted it here.

Personally it is too big and thick (1") for me. TH55 w/o flip cover is as big and thick (1/2") as I want to have it in my palm and pocket. I need one-hand operation. This gizmo requires two-hand operation. I might as well carry around my laptop.

Lets do a verbal poll.
Of the TH-55, the UX-50, and the VZ-90,
which actually looks something like a normal pda?
Which is made to be used as a pda?
Which ones are serious overkill?
Which are made for mobile users?

The TH-55 is the only one that looks like a normal pda.
The TH-55 and the UX-50 are designed to be used primarily as a pda.
The VZ-90 is serious overkill of features, and the UX-50 is too to a lesser degree.
They are all made for mobile users as they all include wifi, okay to great battery life, and great net browsers.

What I have to personally wonder is that with the battery life on the VZ-90, if the screen were incorporated into a TH-55, would the life be even better. We all know that the screen backlight takes most of the power for the device, and since the VZ-90 has so many other features, the lack of a backlight must contribute to the battery life.

If only,...
our TH-55s had OLED screens. What would the world be like?

I don't think VZ90 is a PDA. Where does is say "CLIE" in it? It is more like a mini tablet laptop w/o CD/DVD, etc.

The VZ90 provides a good explanation of why Sony pulled out of the US market. Did you see the price of the thing? Sheesh!!!!!!

WTF? Where is the option for the NX series! With PXA Clocker, these things leave a Tungsten|T3 wanting more!!
