Look like Dynamism and all import tech shop will have a big seller with this one. Integrated CF slot (if it can take memory cards and I/O cards) is a big plus. It weights a lot but who cares when the design is this good. Clie designs are always groundbreaking...too bad Sony has pulled out of the US market...

This could have been a killer Clie. This time they got it almost all right. Great button, OLED displays, long battery life. Never mind the lack of a camera. Too bad it's Japan-only...

My question is will the OS be dual language or Japanese only.

Since I have been considering a portable media player anyway, if the OS will be usable in English I will have a colleague pick one of these up on his next trip through Japan...I really like the style and it is similar to several Korea-only WinCE devices I have had my eye on...but with that Sony style. The addition of the CF slot is a big plus for me (much cheaper large cards).

As for not releasing it in the US...I don't blame them,I am not sure this device would sell overly well in the US consumer market.

Babelfish translation of the japanese press release http://www.sony.jp/CorporateCruise/Press/200409/09-0914/ does translate to "Largest animated picture video recording time:" and also "In case of CLIE MP4 type. There is no video recording function in the knitting machine. In addition, record time per 1 file is longest 2 hours in CLIE MP4 type and QuickTime type."

Perhaps it should really translate to video _playback_ time and not recording time?

I didnt know that CLIE's could knit... cool.. :)
