You probably got this from the brighthand article right? I would hope that this is teh case b/c it was just a pre production model, and that the normal ones will come with them. Even tho you can get the cheapo headphones for 10 bux from any store, you'd think that sony would just throw them in, not like it costs them more than a dollar or so. Same thing with memory sticks too I think. At least throw in a 16mb card!

sony would never release it without headphones.

But I do with they would start including a memory stick. Even my Sony video camera came with an 8mb one.

One more note, standard headphones included with most things sound pretty bad anyway.

The reseller usually bundle software and hardware with it anyway. In Sony Hong Kong, they bundle it with 64mb MS, Chinese OS, and Stylus. So I won't be surprise if it does not come with headphone, the reseller will bundle it.

Haven't really bought that much from HK (i did buy a gameboy color a long time ago, as i remember, they could sell it separately/ or offer accessories). BUt in the US, I've never seen resellers rebundling stuff differently, they just sell you the box from sony.

The pictures on SonyStyle have been changed so they no longer show the TG50 with a pair of headphones.

I can't believe people are upset that they didn't include $.50 headset that should be thrown away immediately anyway. If you are going to spend $400 on a TG50, spend the extra $20 on a decent set of headphones, the difference is night and day. The ear buds they bundle are horrible, but it would have been nice to have the remote control....

you don't even have to spend $20, though you should. if you're going to be buying a $400 mp3 player, you might as well get some good, comfortable headphones from BestBuy. i bet you could get a [b[decent[/b] pair for around $5 on eBay, even.

Sony doesn't include headphones to cut down costs. Also how many people would really use the crappy sony headphones anyways? Might as well not give them away.

I always thought it was funny when Sony included an 8mb memory stick with the original N710 and n760. What can you do with an 8mb stick anyways? well I guess you could use it to backup your palm, but they knew everyone was gonna need a bigger memory stick, so might as well not include a memory stick and cut back on costs also.

I called Sony and according to customer service, supervisors and the technical team the TG-50 does come with headphones. It took them about 10 minutes to get an answer for me.

* sigh * I've said this as many times as I'm willing to so this is the last time. I've got a TG50. There are no headphones. I've confirmed with Sony's marketing people that the TG50 doesn't come with headphones. SonyStyle took the pictures of the TG50 with headphones off. The listing of package contents on SonyStyle doesn't list headphones.

So don't come crying to me when you get your TG50 and there are no headphones.

Okay, Ed. We will all just whine and snivel some more when we see for ourselves and didn't trust yours and countless other reviews saying the TG50 doesn't have headphones. ;-)

I have a really nice pair of headphones, and I've even had the thought of calling Sony and asking how much they charge for a pair of headphones like that come with the T665C. I'd like to have the volume switch on my headphones so I could at least control the volume.

Have you try one of those volume control before? it is very crapy. To slide the button from Hi to Low is just 2-3mm...can't do much fine tuning....you will end up having the volume too loud or got nothing from it.

I find the volume control useful, get off the whole "crappy headphone" mode!!
