hello,
i have a clie nr70v but i don't really like the little camera. that's why i want to buy a sony cybershot dsc p7 (3.2 megapixel). But i just downloaded some jpg's from this camera from the sony website and tried to open them on my clie with ACID Image. It takes about 1 minute to open a jpg in the best quality (2272x1704). The pictures in 640 x 480 open in some seconds.
But i want to take the photos in the best quality in order to print them later at home.

I'd like to know if you know any program which is faster than acid image. the quality of the photo on my clie can be reduced. i'd just like to scroll through my photos on a bigger screen.

thank you,

david
(i'm german, please excuse my bad english)

If all you want to do is to view the images on your Clié, then the easiest way to do it is to use SplashPhoto and its slick desktop app to convert (and resize) all of the images along with transfer to the memory stick.
If you are like me, I immediately transfer all images from my camera's CF card onto the hard drive. I make the necessary image editing adjustments and save those originals. If I want to create an online photo album etc., then I resize copies of them.

AcidImage is the fastest NATIVE jpeg image file viewer.
There's nothing better.

In AcidImage there's a setting called "Open Full Image" this will open the jpeg in full resolution and will take a long time. if you uncheck it, it'll open the image but in a smaller resolution and will be a bit faster.

I have a P7 also, and all you have to do is set the e-mail copy function on, and that will automatically make a copy of each picture in a smaller resoltion, that opens in seconds. So the folder with the big pictures are for printing and the e-mail folrder is for viewing with the clie.  Fast and Simple.  Enjoy!

I tried out a P7 today, and took three photos at 2048 x 1536. The largest was 1348KB, and took 20 seconds to load in SplashPhoto.
