This is probably a repost...but w/e.

Until I can get my Wifi card for my T3, what app can I use to check my mail when I hotsync?

I don't want an app that will just take my mail out of Outlook, I want it to actually connect to the server through my Laptop and download my mail when I hotsync.

Any out there?

Well, even Versamail can collect your popMail as long as you have Internet access. not so much when you "hotsync" but if you are connected to the net via your usb cable e.g. with SoftickPPP.

Versamail can be set up to transfer mails on hotsync, even if you do not have internet access. I have it set up to do both, so when I hotsync after I retrieved mail on the desktop (laptop, really), it will grab those mails as well. Otherwise, it will get the mail when I'm using Wireless on my TC!

Ok, I got it to hotsync my new mail to my Tungsten, But ONLY after checking it first with outlook. So, in order to download the mail to my PDA, I have to check my mail on Outlook, and then hotsync, which is pointless, because if i have to check it in outlook, I might as well read it in outlook.

Can i have it set up so i jsut hit the hotsync button, and it will connect to the net and download the mail onto my PDA?

If you are using an Exchange server as I am, set up your VPN and point Versamail directly to the server. I use "server" rules and filters on my T|C to govern the e-mail I download. Consult your LAN Admin for details.

Err, I think the original poster doesn't have internet connection on his Palm specifically, but as someone suggest, he can try the PPP/Softick solution.

If you have Outlook installed, I am not sure, but I think it will get Outlook to retrieve the email prior to hotsyncing, even if Outlook is not running. The point for hotsync email is really so you can refer or read on the go (just like hotsyncing news via Plucker/iSilo or AvantGo). The other thing is, you can reply to emails, and put them to the outbox, and they will be sent when you hotsync. Due to the new security measures, you have to approve sending the emails when you hotsync, as Outlook/Outlook Express will refuse to send it otherwise.

People would argue too, why hotsync emails? If you have a computer there, why not use Outlook right there? :)
