So I have a cracked glass digitizer on a perfectly functional (LCD looks great) TJ37. How much do you think I could get on ebay for this unit considering all the rest of the parts are perfectly functional?
Also if anyone is interested in this unit let me know, make me an offer, and I can send you some pictures.
thanks
I would say about $75-$120 or less. You can buy a fully functional TJ35 for $139 and a TJ25 for $129.

Dear Geffler,
I owned my TJ27 for all of 6 days before breaking the glass top (in my back pocket at a Van Halen concert...and it was full of pictures from soundcheck, no less...!).
I fretted and worried and e-mailed and called and freaked out and got just plain depressed.
Sony wanted around $140 or $160 to fix it...which sounds an awful lot like their cost on the item.
I went to gethightech.com / pdaparts.com and saw they had a glass top but not for the TJ27/37. They specifically say it's not for the 27/37.
After combing this forum for a solution and finding nothing, I started over with my internet search, and came across a site called palmmediccanada.com that has a glass top that they say fits the TJ27/37 for $89.99 (CAN$). Well, after reading the description, it sounded awfully familiar...and upon going back to pdaparts.com/gethightech.com I noticed that the description was word for word the same. It even had the same part number.
Well, not wanting to deal with a Canadian exchange rate and higher shipping, I got brave and took the plunge at gethightech/pdaparts. For $35 plus $5 shipping, the new glass top was shipped via USPS Priority Mail (though I only paid for regular shipping), well packed. I did the repair myself, and while it was f*@king *INSANE*, anyone with electrical or computer experience could probably do it. Maybe I should write a tutorial...or better yet, offer (for a fee!) to do some repairs....
Anyway, the Clie screen on pdaparts.com (#SO1375) DOES FIT THE TJ27/37!!!
It doesn't come with a layer of glue already on it, and it doesn't come with the icons, but otherwise it fits great, works great, and other than some scary moments trying to get the case open and the boards apart (is it glued? Is there a plastic tab? Is there a screw? Let's apply more leverage and find out...) and some crazy ribbon cable work, it was actually fairly straightforward.
Anyone interested in having their PDA repaired rather than junk it on Ebay (or pay $150 to Sony) can contact me via this board.

While you were in there did you happen to notice if the battery was accessible?

I just finished repairing (2) TJ37 digitizer glass tops. I can do it for $50 rather than the big bucks that Sony gets for it. The TJ series seems to have the same problems the SJ series has with the digitizer glass tops breaking; that is probably because the LCD is smaller than the digitizer glass.
I you need help, let me know; it usually takes me 2 days to do the replacement.

How did you guys open it up? Is there some tabs n stuff? And where do you get a Y top screwdriver from?

It is obvious that Sony does not want people opening it up, hence the "screwy" screws. I made my own screw driver. I don't recommend trying to do the digitizer glass replacement unless you have done it before. It is difficult at best; you have to dismantle the whole thing to get it out. You are also in danger of breaking the LCD if you are not careful. The TJ37 is more difficult than the other TJ, SJ, and T series only because it has more "stuff" in the way.
