View Full Version : Lexar Media 128MB Translucent Memory Stick
1) Does anybody know if the Lexar Media 128MB Translucent Memory Stick compatible with SJ33?
2) Are there any differences between Lexar MS and the Translucent one (beside being translucent and LED flash when new info is stored)?
Thanks

Definitely, I've been using it in my SJ33 for almost 2 weeks with no problems.

Well it was $10 cheaper Canadian that's the only other difference I know about.

There is a slight 'timing' difference. I know of this only because I bought a Dazzle MS reader so I did not always have to go through my printer to download pictures from my camera (I have the HP D145, which handles pictures AWSOMELY by the way). The Sandisk MS and the Sony MS worked fine in the Dazzle reader out of the box, but I had to update the reader off of their website to use the Lexar MS. Lexar told me it was a 'timing' difference, and it would be corrected in the next generation of their sticks.
No problems using them other than that. My Sony camera and my SJ 30 could care less what brand of sticks I have in them.

I like how you refer to your Sony devices as a kind person with a brain, it makes me laugh!! Good for you!!

Sandisk's own readers have no problems reading the Lexar sticks. I've got one of their combo compact flash/memory stick readers & it works great.

Mastervtec,
They are separate thinking things! The SJ30 is my first palm device, and it has become a second brain. If I could drop an 'emotion' chip into it, it could be a whole person!
BTW, I played w/ the SJ33 at CompUSA yesterday. Oooh, so much faster than the SJ30!!!:p I want one now, and I have only had my SJ30 for three months. Upgrade fever is coming on.

Ha, you don't consider the t665? It has the extended IR and remote commander, but the battery life is why people like the sj33 more I guess. I bought the sj33 and returned it 3 days later, I, liked my t665 too much.

Does the T665 have the 66 mgz processor in it? I do not need music capability, just blazing fast speed! I do like the T series form factor as well as the SJ30 size. Small and simple is good for me, cameras and music are not. I use mine as a laptop replacement.

It has all the things the SJ33 has plus more BUT it's battery life is MUCH shorter. Several sites have said 3 hours. Many people have reported needing to charge it every day. That's the reason I chose an SJ33 instead, a PDA is no good to ME if the power is going to run out when I need it. If you don't mind charging every day then it may be ok for you. The music doesn't make it any less simple to use BTW, that seems like a strange comment.
