It depends.
I have never used one that required username / password access BUT I have read that it is possible.
Theoretically ANY SITE can be converted. You can change properties for varying the link depth, images, text... but some will be friendlier to this than others.
*NOTE: I got banned from slashdot =/ ; I never checked the link-depth (12) and they accused me of slamming their server =/
Convert wisely ;)

In the preferences for an item (my.yahoo.com for ex), you can enter username password. I've not had much luck with it, so far.
On a related iSilo note: For some reason, even with the default hotsync location set to my memory card, iSilo is dumping everything into the Clie's memory. EVERYTHING. Then I have to manually move stuff there using the clie's manager, 'cause PowerRun is not finding the documents and books (thanks, Baen!) I've moved over. Suggestions? Ideas? Does the full version (ie: Paid for) of PowerRun do more than the demo?
Thanks.

It took some coaching from the really friendly people at the www.turcic.com (http://www.turcic.com) board (THANKS AGAIN ALEX!) But I did it, and if I can . . . ANYBODY CAN! I get the NY Times Sunday magazine once a week. VERY high cool factor!

Also there are things you can to to make tables much easier to read, rather than scrolling horizontally. You can also easily resize pictures on the site, or remove them completely for a smaller sized clip. It takes some tinkering to get things 'just so' but once you do, you don't have to mess with it anymore.

Convert wisely ;) Always good advice.
You may also want to consider using IsiloXC. It takes some 'fiddleing' to get set up, but it makes iSilo scooping as painless as Avantgo, and MUCH better looking on hi-res Clies (IMHO, of course).;) I use Windoze scheduler to run it. I have one batch that runs a few times a day . . . and one batch that runs once a week (the main one is NY Times Magazine). OH YEAH! Almost forgot. Storing sites to the card is MUCH MUCH easier than getting Avantgo on there....

You also need to change a setting in iSiloX. Go to 'Document', then 'Default Properties'. In the pop-up box go to 'Destination'.
From there you add the destination by clicking 'Hotsync' and then clicking on External card. Make sure you also remove the destination for internal memory, or it will install to both places.
From now on all your iSilo files will install by default to memory stick. You can of course change this on a case to case basis too.
Have fun-

I've done this, several times, and even when DEFAULT is MS, the program dumps it straight to poor Fred.
Default desmalt.

That's odd, I've never had that problem.
You should email iSilo support, they're pretty good at responding.

Did this with me as well . . . because I was trying to store the iSilo.prc on my card. Can't do it . . . has to be in ram.

I have been successful at running Isilo from the MS.
ARE you sure your DEFAULT properties are set correctly??
I had this occur early on BUT made sure that BOTH my default properties & individual properties DOES NOT install to my NX's Ram.

You know, I have messed with iSiloXC off and on for a couple of years, lol. Just recently I must of stumbled upon the magical code, because I am now scooping the sites I want. I'm afraid to touch it again. :D But, I have configured it with Windows Task Scheduler so it will automatically download the sites I want in the morning. (When that is done I have the scheduler to run a hotsync . By the time I'm done with breakfast, my Clie is ready for the work day!)
I got the info I needed from Turic's forum. Great place to learn the in and out's of iSilo.

@ gyffes:
IsiloXC is the commandline version of IsiloX. It is used to update the chanels you have defined with IsiliX. IsiloXC is very good to update the channels automatically using the windows taskplanner.
And it is free and bundeled with IsiloX
For more info see http://www.isilo.com/
Hope this helps, Michael
