I've had my NX for over a month and have to say I LOVE it. However, I don't use the camera that much so it is not really that important to me. I do use the WiFi extensively at home and wonder if what kind of ranges I could get with a Bluetooth dongle and the TG50? I love the light up keyboard and think that is big disappointment in my NX because I like to use it on the bus and in bed when it is dark, but find I can't remember all the shift and function keys. The TG has almost everything the NX has that I would really use, although I do love the large screen for reading. I would like to have the PicselViewer application that the TG includes since I don't use Docs2Go anyway.
As you can see I am quite taken by the TG50 and am wavering back and forth. The TG50 is $350 cheaper ($600 for NX and $150 for WiFi card) and serves most functions I want. I could almost pay for two TG50s so my wife would stop taking my NX and playing Insaniquarium when we are in the car.
So are any of you TG50 buyers ex. NX owners? I am just curious to know if anyone else is thinking like me and what your take is. I thought it would be great to have a large display on a tablet form PDA, but Sony really can't do that with a keyboard unless the PDA was very long or in the clamshell like the current devices. I think I prefer the keyboard over the large display. If the TG50 had 32MB or more of RAM it might make my decision much easier. I am so confused:)

I absolutely love the clamshell design after having the NR and now the NX. But I can understand being tempted by the TG50. With the protective cover, it looks like it would offer nearly as much screen protection in a much small package. I would certainly miss the high-res+ screen for picture viewing and ebook reading, but for most other things, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. I probably wouldn't switch, but I can understand why you're tempted.

I tried out an NX70V for a while, and thought it was very nice but unfortunately I could not afford to keep it. I ended up going down to a SJ30 which was nice, but I really liked the features OS5 had like a movie player, voice recorder, fast processor and such. If you can deal with the 320*320 screen then I'd say go for the TG50. Or, you can wait to see what Sony will do with the NX form factor. There are some rumors Sony is going to release and updated NX model with the buttons on it like the NZ90, bluetooth and a better keyboard (like the TG50).

To wait for the new NX series or to just go ahead and get the TG...
Too bad the TG has the wavy shadow lines on the screen. Too bad the TG has a lot of plastic on it. and too bad the TG has a smaller screen than the sj33. Still, i'm so tempted it looks so fantastic and if I had to choose between thumbboard and hi-res+, I would have to choose thumbboard.

Any source for those rumors?

not me. I can't live without my NX, especially the hires+ screen.

I'm seriously considering getting a TG50, to suppliment my NR70. I think the loss of real estate (screen size), going to a TG50 would make me want to keep my NR. I need bluetooth, and I need portability. The NR is borderline portable - pocketable for me. That's why I didn't upgrade to a NX or NZ. They just push the limit on size for my tastes.
I'm all for a virtual grafitti version of the TG, sans keyboard. Other than that, it's a perfect fit for me at this time.

I have the NX70, I have been a "palm" user since the Newton & Pilot era, I write most things in grafiti and my only complaint is that the NX70 devote soo much to the keyboard. If There was a version without that would be great and i would buy one right now. That said, even with the keyboard the TG is interesting... but 1. Based on the reviews 2. the screen and 3. because it is only available at sony and not places like PC/MAC Mall where I have a coroprate account I am going to take a pass.
Is there any information on when the new form factor NX's will be out?

Do you think that the battery life of the TG50 outperforms the battery life of the NX? I mean this thing has built-in bluetooth, but I think that the Hires+ is a bigger battery drainer.
