I think the TH55 has nearly everything from previous CLIE. Any omissions have been identified already.

I've got the following on my NX70 from others:
CLIE NetMon
SilkLauncher
Decuma

but I'm pretty sure that you would have them already on a TH55.

I second for Netmon. I like the way it is placed in Silk Plug-In screen. All I need to do is to horizontally swipe along the SB to see it (the popup screen will toggle among standard VG2, Decuma, and Netmon) and still able to keep the ZLauncher Quick Launch Anywhere being mapped to Silk Plug-In button itself.

Silklauncher is the small button on the bottom of the screen which looks like a box with two dots and an arrow under it. It lists the silk plugins, such as graffiti 2 and decuma. Once the prc for netmon is installed, it will show up here as an option.

OK. Thanks. I call that "Silk Plug-In icon" as what TH55 "Read This First" manual calls it in page 91, item #6. It comes in ROM so every TH55 should come with it.

It's just such a pity more useful ones like the much wished-for AudioPlayer control have not been coded.

Yes, it is possible. I ran into the same problem you did because it's read-only. Here:

You'll need to install the CLIE SCSI Driver from the CD first. Then (you'll need an MS) tap the MS icon in your SB and tap "PC Link" to establish a connection between your CLIE and your computer. Just copy the Photo Editor PRC into the root of the MS and then disconnect when finished. Then, if you so desire, you can use CLIE files or FileZ to move it to your RAM.

Thanks for the tips. I now can retire the SB horizontal swipes to toggle between the 3 Silk Plug-In items. Since I only care about the StandardInput and CLIE NetMon (don't care to see, much less use of Decuma Latin Input), I can just do the back slash (\) from the SB clock to the top of VG (regardless whether VG is up or down), the Silk Plug-In will only toggle between the StandardInput and NetMon, skipping Decuma. ;)

Woo! I now have 3 Silk Plug-ins! :D

CLIE NetMon - Displays nifty networking stats (IP addr, speed, time connected etc.)
SlkCalendar - Displays a simplistic calendar for the current month
SilkLauncher - Like the normal StandardInput, but instead of only 4 buttons (Home, Menu, Calc, Find), it has EIGHT and they're customisable! :D

More!! Must... find... MORE!

(BTW, for SilkCalendar, I deleted the big file but it doesn't seem to have affected it's operation. Anyone able to read the Readme.txt that comes in the Zip file? I've managed to figure out that it's in Japanese Shift-JIS encoding... but I can't read japanese :))

That is an old OS4 drawing app. I have that when I bought MSCam for my old N760C. It works with my TH55 but it can only draw up to 320x320 screen. If you still want it, just PM me.

SilkLaunchers' configuration screen shows only clickable down arrows and nothing else - is this normal? - at the moment I am unable to assign apps to the different buttons. *shame* :(

Huh? I'm not sure I understand what you're referring to.

Each of the 8 down arrows will give you a dropdown list of all apps & DAs in your RAM plus page up, page down, Home, Menu, Calc, and Find. You can map the Calc button to where the normal Home button used to be if you want to.

I heard people have problems installing Silk Plug-In apps via HotSync. So, I installed it via MS. It is quick. Try that. Here is how I did:
1. Connect TH55 to PC via USB.
2. Tap MS icon in TH55 SB.
3. Tap PCLink button in TH55 Media Info popup window.
4. Drag & drop SilkLauncher.prc from PC to MS (removable drive) in Windows Explorer
5. Tap disconnect and OK button in TH55 Data Import.
6. Go to CLIE Files and move (or copy) the SilkLauncher.prc from MS to RAM (Handheld).

Forget it. Our IR strength is crap. That is what we get when we complained to Sony about T665 crappy battery. They in turns give us crappy IR as a trade of. You can't win them all.

I'm not a UX-series user, but I was able to rip CLIE Album and Photostand off from my old NX60 (now deceased). They both work great on the TH55.

Try copying the .prc files onto the Memory stick using the "connect to PC" utility on the CLIE if you don't have a Memory Stick Card reader. I dragged mine on and then used CLIE Files to move it to my RAM. I don't know if that really does anything different. However I say this because I heard you need to do this for the Movie Recorder... :p

Hi guys,

Very grateful for all the tips and hints in this thread so far, I was really enthusiastically installing all the apps and silkscreen stuff till I got to photo editor.

Failing to take heed of the warning not to sync the PRC file, I found that I could not open it. I then tried the method of donig a data transfer to the MS followed by using Clie files to move the 3 PRC files to the ram.

I was unable to copy one particular file, photo editor.prc (186kb). I then tried to delete the file from the clie th55 using clie files. I was told I could not delete the photo editor.prc file on my handheld (0.1kb) cos its read only! Found that I could not delete the program from clie launcher as well

So now I'm stuck, I can't run photo editor, can't copy over the file fom the MS, can't delete the file (read only) and the photo editor icon is in my clie launcher and it can't run. A real eyesore!

I then tried a hard reset, followed by a MS restore, then a hotsync. Surprisingly the photo editor turned up and I still can't delete it.

How should I go about to correct this? I would like to either get the photo editor running, or remove it completely, thanks laddies!

Install FileZ and uncheck the "Read Only" in the Attrs tab of that app, tap "Save", then you should be able to delete it.

If you want to do the hard way (via Hard Reset & HotSync), you need to clean up that garbage file in your PC side of backup folder. Otherwise you will restore that garbage file back via HotSync to your RAM.

Just get the habit of doing MSBackup before venturing to the unknown. ;)

Clie Files does not replace filez, but it does do a pretty good job on in its own way.

I use the transparent version and paste it onto the MythoMania Factory's Sphinx. Check this Silk Plug-In thread (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67270&page=4&pp=15) for more detail. I installed it via MS, not HotSync.

Interestingly, on the japanese clie club's website, it states that Netfront 3.1 is on the VZ90. But the fact that the clie is continuing somewhere means there will probably be newer version of the software. We will have to depend on a the few people that buy it to upload the software for us, though it will probably be in japanese anyway...

The only programs from the UX-50 I use are the video recorder and photo editor, so I don't have any more than what people email to me or that I have grabbed from various places.
