Beyond Contacts Beyond Me

I just added Beyond Contacts (from DataViz, V 3.006) to my TH55. After about 4 hours of trying I have not been able to get a successful sync between the TH55 and both my Toshiba laptop and my Windows-based desktop. Beyond Contacts is on both the laptop and desktop. Both of the "big" computers are running Windows XP and Outlook 2003. I can (eventually) get a clean sync between the TH55 and either machine. When I try to sync between machines, a large and usually equal number of events (appointments, tasks, contacts, etc.) gets added to and deleted from the TH55. This occurrence is usually accompanied by numerous duplicate entries all over Outlook. I have laboriously removed the dups and resynced with the TH55 only to find the same problem repeats when I sync with the other machine. Ugh! Any ideas? :confused:

Hmm. Ok, here's the thing. How's are your computer's time like? Are they almost the same? The problem is if they are several minutes (or hours) different, and you sync within that time differnce.

How hotsyncing works is it checks which records were created at what time. That's the basis of how it knows which ones are new and which ones are old. I think the probelm you are experiencing is you sync on one computer, and then sync on the other immediately. The second computer thinks that the synced data from the first computer are new and then replicates them as duplicates.

This is just a thought.

Thanks. The time dimension is an intriguing idea. The handheld was 4 minutes behind the workstation and 2 minutes behind the laptop. I have adjusted the handheld's clock. In spite of these time differences I have never had obvious difficulties in syncing Clie Organizer with all the machines. Perhaps Beyond Contacts is a bit more sensitive? I'll try again this weekend.
