I want to buy a Clie to run with my OS 9.2 mac. I want it to be totally compatible with Word and Entourage - which I think is possible, right? What´s the cheapest Clie to get? J30? Is there a reason to get the J33? I´m on a budget.
Also, can anybody recommend a good keyboard? My plan is to use the Clie to do lots of writing in cafes and such.
Thanks
Max

let me see if i have this straight, you want to be completely compatible with a sony clie using palm software, mac os 9.x, and microsoft word and excel?
i can't imagine anything more challanging that getting four fairly proprietary systems working together (especially since all four are loath to acknowledge the need for any of the other three)
however (with sarcasm under control for the moment) here is the magic solution, but it's not cheap!
first, to use a clie (any clie) with os 9.x you need to purchase missing sync version 2.2.x (http://www.markspace.com) this will get the sony clie with palm software working with the mac. approx. $30
now you need to go to http://www.dataviz.com and get doctogo for the mac. you have to get the premium edition because that is the only mac version. the cost is approx. $70. if you call them you can tell them you bought a clie and you want to upgrade to the premium edition for the upgrade price the windoze folks get and they will hook you up for only $29.95.
once this is installed you can then bring the evil empire into a working relationship with the axis of evil you had previously made (sarcasm sneaking back in)
when you add the cost of a keyboard and a memory stick or two (must haves) you are approaching the cost of a low end refurbished ibook (just a thought):)
as for which clie you should get, i have no idea:p
