HotSync causes USB Failure on XP Laptop

I've recently upgraded my laptop to Win XP and installed all the clie software on it (including clie desktop and hotsync manager, etc.,). However, every time I try to HotSync my Clie UX50, the USB port in my Laptop fails, showing "Unknown Device". Other USB devices work fine, just HotSync doesn't work. Please advise. Thanks.

I still cannot figure out and tried several troubleshootings FAQs but none work.

Tried buying a new cable and uploading all the new updates but still the same problem

Sounds like your laptop may have a faulty port...
