View Full Version : TG: supports memorystick PRO, no software update needed??

i'm just wondering if the TG50 will support memorystick PRO without softwareupdate?
what i'm concerned is not about whether or not i have to download the software,
but it is that NZ and all updated-to-support-MS-PRO will NOT support MS PRO MG
that's the whole point.

in other words, will TG 50 support MS PRP MG??

As far as I can tell, the only version of Memory Stick PRO is MagicGate. There will not be a non-MagicGate version. So anything that support Memory Stick PRO supports MagicGate.

But it does support MS Pro! Anybody know if Software update is even avail yet...at least for NX/NZ series?

And could not find it among the available software updates for the NX models.

TG50 wasn't even listed yet.

ok now this is weird

no non-magic-gate MS PRO??

it says MS PRO supports the MG function
so what dos that mean

how does the MG limit the file transfer anyway?

and it says that the NZ90 can read MS PRO, but does not support the high speed transfer

da heck is sony thinking
not even their $800 flagship PDA fully support MS PRO???

According to the footnote in the Clie Catalog, MG cannot be used anymore after the upgrade to support MS Pro. I believe the MG that it is referring to is the current MS (non-Pro) MagicGate. So, anything that supports MS Pro, will not support MS MG. This will only be a problem to current MS MG owners...
