I read on a T2, so I have only one orientation in which to read. I'll probably be upgrading to whatever the new flaship Palm will be, and I'm curious - when reading ebooks, do you guys tend to read in portrait or landscape?

Adrenochrome,
I think it depends on the device you are using, or what kind of hardware features it has. If it has a flip cover like my Clie TH55, I find reading in landscape mode a little bit disturbed by the flip cover.
Anyway, as the next flagship Palm device will have a Hi-Res screen as well, it really depends on your reading habits, or maybe better: How your reading brain is wired :-)
I find it awkward to read in landscape on a Hi-Res device, as I personally believe that the lines tend to be too long for a continous flow in my eye movement and I have to scroll too often downwards.
And portrait on a Hi-Res device allows for shorter lines and an almost pocket book-like reading feeling with all the bells and whistles of e-books.
Hope that helps, GB

I love reading in landscape on my T3. The only thing that is close is reading in landscape on my old HandEra 330.
I have read on a Palm III and Tungsen C and there is really no comparision for me.

I was just curious. When writing, I definitely prefer landscape mode because it allows more text on the screen and seems to flow better with the way I write, but for reading, eReader uses whole-line breaks between paragraphs instead of the much more economical paragraph indents, and that leads to long lines of blank when reading.
But whenever the T5 comes out, I'll buy it and find out for myself.:D

I prefer reading in portait.... dont have to move my eyes side to side which = faster reading for me. (Using TiBR you can change orientation)
I would prefer editing landscape of I had that option.

I basically always read in landscape on my TH55: it provides the most book-like reading experience. Having to constantly dart back and forth from line to line in portrait mode (due to narrow margins) kinda strains my eyes during prolonged reading.
I've switched recently to landscape, and I really like it. I think one of the biggest selling points for me is actually that the T3 seems easier to hold with one hand for long periods of time in a landscape configuration. Holding it in portrait requires me to quirk my thumb down at an odd angle to hit the down button, and tends to hurt after a while.

I've read in landscape for quite some time. Currently I read in landscape on my Zodiac and my T3. I like having more words per line. The flow of reading is better, closer to real books.
But I also read in landscape on my T2. It didn't give me more screen but it was more comfortable to hold.

I use Plucker with antialiased Utopia font. Get Plucker from www.plkr.org (a better desktop component is at jpluck.sf.net), and search for "Utopia" on palmgear.com.

Aym, try flipping the T3 upside down. I have a T2, so I don't have the landscape option yet, but I've found that if I flip it upside down, my thumb falls very comfortably onto the D-pad, and I can read for hours comfortably.
I don't like reading in landscape at all!
1) It is faster reading in portrait -- faster switching to the next line and your eyes don't have to "travel as much"
2) Currently, in eReader -- and probably Plucker and TiBr -- if you use a pop-up dictionary you have to switch back to portrait if you are in landscape. I look up about 1 word per 2 eReader screens and it is not comfortable to constantly switch back to portrait.
IMHO, but it is also much easier to hold your TH55 in one hand and scrolll. I always hold my stylus in the other hand when I have to look up a word.

I love landscape, though I do have to scroll more often, if I put it on "auto scroll" then I am in heaven!
Plus I found out that if I am tired and reading in bed or sick then I can read laying on either side without any support for my NX other then opening it's clamshell a bit. LOL, strange, but nice when you want to read before falling asleep and when I was really sick one day, it was a life saver for boredom!!!
My 2 cents:)

Which machine do you have? I'm using eReader on a T3, and I don't have to switch to see the internal dictionary, at least. I'm thinking if you were to switch the pop-up dictionary via the status bar rotate key it might remember the state and pop-up in landscape.
