I wanted to send my UX-50 to get repaired and was wondering if it was possible to send it to get repaired still being that it is not even listed on the sonystyle website. Could somebody please help me out with this. I wanted to fix my screwed up lens.

I sent in my UX-50 about a month ago to Sony (their San Diego facility) to have the infamous screen whine corrected. Because I bought this thing used, it was out of warranty and so I paid a flat fee of around $130 for the work. You have to call Sony first and obtain an RMA, then they send a shipping box to you.

You had the screen whine corrected? Mine is refurbished as well but I have a UX40. I'm gonna try to send it in, hopefully I get a UX50 back. =D

What is "Screen Whine"?

There's a separate thread on this...audible high-pitched whine originating from the LCD screen. Mine wasn't noticeable when I first received the UX-50, but it got worse. So even though I had to pay out of pocket, I sent it back to Sony and they replaced a module.

Did it fix your screen whine? I have a couple UX devices with whine, but don't want to pay if the problem will just come back anyway.

Yes, it fixed it. but I've only had the UX-50 back for about three weeks or so, so who knows if it's gone permanently? It'll probably be fine through the repair warranty period, then at 91 days it'll return....
