I havent touched the damn nz90 for a week, it has lost everything, even the last backup I did doesnt get everything back. Place it on the cradle, says immediately that the battery is 100%, take it off charger and bang black screen.
I really like the nz90.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY HATE THE BATTERY!
(the swear jar is filling fast)

I feel for you... but I think you have to get a new one and keep in mind to once in a while leave the NZ in the cradle for at least 12 hours even though the orange light has come off, just to charge the backup battery as well!

Was hating my NZ90 too, then bought a new battery through ebay for about $30. I'm very happy now. I can at least take 5 flash pictures before the battery goes below 50% (I could only take 1 previously). When I start the camera program the battery life does not drop from 100% to about 40% with the backlight on- it stays at 100% (previously I had to turn the backlight off otherwise it would drop to <25% after a couple photos and then boot me out of the program).
Hope you have the same results!

futureshop has the batteries for 100 bucks plus tax (free shipping)
it's the original Sony Smart Lithium (aka crap) batteries!
click here (http://www.futureshop.ca/marketing/clearance/EN/proddetailpc.asp?logon=&langid=EN&dept=0&WLBS=fsweb23&sku_id=0665000FS10027763&catid=&newdeptid=2&PCName=Clearance&pdetail=/marketing/clearance/EN/proddetailpc.asp&vendor=True)
OR, here's a little detour you can do:
Staples sells NZ90 for $650 (clearance) --> buy one, swap the batteries, and return it!!
or do the same anywhere that sells nz90, and lets you return an opened item.

The answer came to me this morning, from a very unexpected source.
I was in Staples a couple weeks ago, looking at the nz90 and the manager came over to chat with me, he knew i had one too. I went in last week, and it was gone, some jackass broke the screen, so I asked him about the battery. He said would look into it, called me this morning out of the blue, said if I want the entire box, everything, I could have it all for 100.00 cdn.
NEEDED- NZ90 SCREEN.
FOR SALE- EVERYTHING IN THE BOX!
lets start the bidding!!! hehe wheeeeeeeeee

charged up the very dead battery today, and even though the screen is spidered, very colorful led stain, it seems to work fine. Now, the trouble is that even on the box, from a store in Canada, it has to be sent to the USA for repair, looks like Staples bought a bunch of refurbs. The 800# doesnt even work in Canada. Does anyone live in northern Montana? Maybe I can swing over and get someone from there to send it away for repair for me. The manager of Staples was even nice enough to give me 2 receipts, I hope I can get it fixed.

my NZ90 hasn't touched a cradle in over a week (8 days, but i chose to be dramatic) and it still holds a charge of 54%
