I have a new TH-55 that is replacing my TJ-25. When deleting the old software to install the new, my computer will not let me delete? It just freezes up. I cannot install the new software over the old as the new CD requires that I delete the old.

Any ideas? I know that it says that Palm 5.0 will not work with Windows XP tablet but the old one worked just fine

I don't know if it will work, but I recently had some install probelms with Home XP. However I could install when in Safe Mode. Indeed try uninstalling in Safe Mode and see what happens

Your TJ25 is a Palm OS4 Device, your new TH55 is a Palm OS5 device, which is currently not compatible with windows xp tablet . If you visit http://ciscdb.sel.sony.com/perl/news-item.pl?news_id=33&template=EN&session_id=542f632b5d15a06e84a293215a70aed5 you will see the following:

Sony does not support the use of the CLIÉ™ handheld or the installation of the Palm™ Desktop software or other bundled software on a computer running either the Microsoft® Windows® 2003 Server operating system or the Microsoft® Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition operating system.

I think that stinks, I would really like to have a tablet PC as my primary laptop, however I want the syncing ability with my TH55.

Although I admit I have a TH55 syncing with my desktop, I do have a Garmin iQue which runs OS5 syncing on my Tablet PC. Therefore Palm OS5 device can work with TabletXP.

I had upgraded to Palm 5 ( think it came with the software on the Clie Peg-25 and 35). I know that 5.0 did work. That's why I am so stumped. I just installed the service pack 2 from Microsoft and it had no effect.

I have 2 computers to work with, one a tablet, the other a desk top. On the desktop it runs beautifully. Maybe I won't use the tablet but it was sure nice to have the backup on the road.
