I was given an m515 with os4.1. What is the latest OS I can put on there? Alternately does anyone know a good document reader that runs on 4.1?

Basically, you've already got the right OS for the device. You cannot upgrade to OS5.

I believe most of the document readers run on OS4.1.

document to go 7.0 doesn't and I can't find an earlier version of it. I've seen a lot of isilo users. Will that read rtf and doc files? If not can you please recommend one?

You can still buy Documents to Go 6, which runs on OS 4.x.

I assume you're looking for something that gives you fonts and formatting -- i.e., just getting the plain text isn't enough. Wen you say "DOC" do you mean Palm DOC format or Microsoft Word format?

Personally, I like Documents to Go as a full featured mini-Office suite. If all you want is to be able to view text documents, it's overkill. For simple viewing, I like Plucker (www.plkr.org), which is free. However, it can get a little complex to setup and use. Since you call yourself "newbie," it may be a little more complex than you want.

I'm not an iSolo user... I'd really suggest that you go to Palmgear or Handango and read the descriptions and reviews. Then download a trial and see if you like it.

P.S. I'd suggest that you register here!
