View Full Version : HELP! Having IR beaming problems...

Help! just bought brand new SJ-33 today (3/9) and am having problems sending and receiving games/addresses,etc. via IR beaming port. i exchanged pda's this morning at retail store where it was purchased, thinking it was default in software, but am having the same problem. everything else works fine, gotta be something small. somebody help ASAP!

This is probably dumb, but make sure the beam recieve function is on.

yeah it is, i've tried everything i can think of. keep coming with the ideas.

I had to do a soft reset on my friend's ,then her beam function worked just fine. and her sj30 was brand new.

Yeah, I have had to do that with other Clie's, once in a while I guess it just needs a good ol' reset!

On an sj22 doing a soft reset fixed the same problem.:D
I upgraded from a Palm m130 and found my sj33's IR is a little narrower. The m130 could be pointed in the general direction and pick things up.
My sj33 is more picky -- needing to be pointed straight on to anything it is talking to.

i was finally able to receive a beam, this time from another handheld than the first. i guess it was the other guys problem. i guess mine wasn't defective afterall. thanks to everyone who helped with ideas. talk to you guys later--biglance
