I recently got an NX70V and don't seem to be able to do a warm reset. Is it my machine? Is there a secret trick?
HELP
Thanks

It can be a little tricky, the first time it took me 3 or 4 attempts.

You can do a warm reset, which is done by holding the page Up button while pushing in the reset button on the backside of the Clie with the pin from inside your stylus. This won't load anything so there will be no Virtual Graffiti area either. Hit Ctrl-H on the keyboard, go to the Clie Files(file manager), then you can delete the desired application. Afterwards, you then need to do a regular reset by using the little pin from inside your stylus to push the reset button in the backside of your Clie.

I didn't, the credit goes to cbulock, he had helped me when I couldn't get rid of the status bar skin and it saved me from having to do a hard reset.

I know enough to be dangerous:D!

There are several reasons and more. One reason is if your getting fatal errors on a 3rd party launcher and want to disable it before it loads or if you want to delete a locked file, such as a status bar skin and you don't want to do a hard reset. Think of it as kind of entering a safe mode:).

All I did was read the manual. :) There are a number of different key combinations that can be used. Check out the ReadThisFirst.pdf file. It's located on your hard drive at C:\Program Files\Sony Handheld\Manuals. (Well, on my hard drive anyway, I imagine most are in a similar spot). Then look at page 37.

Yea, I'm a dork, I always read all the manuals I get with stuff like this, but there is really a lot of information to be found!:D

Cameron,

I wanted you to know that I appreciated your help when I needed it. That and on other fronts, if you catch my drift:)!

Do you think the last line of my signature is a little too subtle:D?

All of a sudden, when I do a warm reset, I get an error:
Mem. Mgr.c Line:5767, Heap ID not found.
This is on an NX70V. The fatal error comes as I press "ctrl h"
I didn't notice this before I installed JackFlash, but...
Thanks for any advice

Alan,

Sorry I don't know enough about JackFlash to help you, but Brayder, from what I understand has been very helpful to others in the past. I suggest you try them first.

You actually don't need to use the Cntl-H trick (which takes you back to the launcher). Even thought the VG area is not showing, you can actually tap on the spot that the Home button would be if the VG were showing. This performs the same function, taking you back to the launcher.

Someone had to or they'd quit printing the things!! :) Actually, I believe all the Clies have them on the CD now, so they really have quit printing them!!

I can't say that I read the manual, but I did read the CD...

The application manual is quite colorful, I like the pastel colors, puts me in touch with my feminine side :).

"Curtains" are now "window treatments", you know that milk is they way to remove an ink stain from a shirt, and with just water, a tomato and a head of cabbage, you can prepare a gourmet feast for fifty :)

Well, after an exhausting two days and many back and forth emails to Rod Dunn and also Brad at JackFlash, Rod has again saved the day.
I couldn't do a "warm reset" with my NX without getting a fatal error. Very frustrating. If I moved all apps out of flash and back into RAM, no problem. Naturally, I thought it was a JackFlash issue. "Not so", said Rod, after a gazillion emails. He figured out that it is a bug in LX but if you select "Manual" to refresh the icons, there is no problem! I'm obviously making this sound easier than it was. I just had the problem. Rod somehow found the solution.
